Miele oven repair...sensor replacement
Comments (7)A sensor will not break and then "fix itself". If it is indeed "Sensor related" it will be a bad connection to the sensor, I don't know if it uses connectors for the sensor(recall the problem with Mojavean's coffee machine)? "Just about" All (never say never) intermittent problems like you are seeing are caused by a bad connection. I was a Service Engineer for over 40 years and owned my own company for 16 Years---So I can "Knowing Say" "Been There, Done that". These guys are doing what we call "Shotgunning". Taking a "Wag or a Swag" at what they think the most likely problem is, due to the number of the error code. Myself, I would leave it alone, and then if it does break again, hopefully You won't get "Shotgun Sam" Again. I certainly appreciate your concern about new sensors throwing the oven/ovens off, as from all the post we have read, there seems to be no way to calibrate these ovens, once they have left the factory. We keep our fingers crossed that it keeps workings. Best Regards: Gary...See MoreMiele 1926 - repair or replace?
Comments (6)Ah, I thought you were having a motor issue. You need a new drum then? Or main bearing? Miele claims to stock parts for discontinued models for 15 years, so you should have the same identical part for your machine available. That also makes the case for a W4842 despite the fact that they have been discontinued, as parts would be available for some time to come. You are correct about the temps, but I have found that I rarely ever use anything above 140... on rare occasion I take it up to 155 for a pet mess or whatever. The newer machines can hit 70C even with their 120v heaters. That being said... I have a newer LG washer as well... and washing(filling) with hot water boosted by a 120v heater is a whole different ball game than starting with cold every time(assuming your machine is hooked up for cold fill), and heating from there. Another major annoyance is that all newer machines (non-euro) made since 2009 or so regulate HOT @ 106(read warm). WARM @ 86(read cold), and Sanitize @ 157. No 120, no 140... It's infuriating, but that's for another thread. Anyway, just some food for thought. I've heard nothing but good things about the cleaning ability of the new machines as well. I just personally don't want to give up 240v until I absolutely have to. Re: circuit boards - They are claimed to be designed to last the 20 year design life of the machine. I hope this helps and doesn't serve to make your decision more difficult!...See MoreMiele 1213 washer - replace? repair? Nothing like it on the market!
Comments (5)It is expensive to repair but I do recomend it. My neighbor dis his machine him self but he is a machine enginer on big boats but there are vids on youtube. If it were me and I am in Sweden I would do it but if it is a well used machine do make use of this time to check it over like: Carbonbrushes of the motor, pump, suspention, clean out all hozes internaly, maybe more things Then you have a machine that will last many years more....See MoreOdd story about Miele induction repair
Comments (5)Plllog, I have an induction cooktop and have never heard of such a thing. I would ask the owner to reach out to Miele for more details. This sounds strange. Was this Miele repair or an authorized Miele repair individual?...See Moretwinpines
