Did you buy it on Amazon ??? Did it happen to come from Ace Hardware ???

I have bought a few items that were shipped from Ace hardware.
You can call the manufacturer direct and ask them.

A leaking springform pan is not "normal".
Call amazon and tell them you will be sending it back and to please send you a return voucher.

I remember that too Shaun. I think it does help to turn the bottom upside down.

I always wrap the bottom in foil as a "just in case" preventative method.

Thanks guys. This was NOT a cheap pan and you can't flip the bottom. In fact you can cut on it and serve direct from the base.

Everything that leaked collected in the base and it sure doesn't look pretty enough to serve out of. Nothing leaked into the oven. Wrapping in foil would not have prevented the leaks.

I've contacted Amazon, they will be sending a replacement.

And BTW, how do you run a knife around the edge without scratching the pan?

I use a plastic knife.

I said to contact the Manufacturer, because at times ,they don't want you to send the Original back.

I don't know about cutting on the Pan. Be careful!
Test on the Bottom.

I have recipes from trusty sources that say to always line your pan with foil in case of leaks, so they must be common. My pan is also a good one, and it usually leaks. I just always wrap the bottom in foil as a matter of precaution.

Thanks for the advice. I did call the company and they want the pan back. I think I may just send them the dirty pan so they can see how badly it leaked along with the recipe I used.

They promised to look at it, assured me that it did not sound normal, and will replace it if it is, indeed, defective. If not they will return it to me and I will send it back to Amazon- either way I won't be out the money.

But honestly as embarrassed as I am to admit I spent $50 on a springform pan, I truly did expect better performance than this. And I figured if I use it every time I need a 9x13" pan it will get more than it's fair share of use - BUT NOT IF IT LEAKS LOL

Think I said to wrap the outside so any Butter etc., won't leak out into the oven.

But if she wraps the outside, it will still go into the
outside edge of Bottom Pan, and leave a mess.
It's like a Moat around a Castle.

We will have to wait and see if the new one leaks.

What the H3ll am I talking about ? This one is new.
I would contact the Manufacturers Customers Service, also
and inquire about the leaks.

Lou, Yes I wrap the outside in foil. Keeps the oven clean.

Wow, that makes me appreciate my cheap round ones. You know, the set that comes in three... I have them for years and they never give me griefs. I hope the company will replace it for you. Do you have to pay shipping to send them back?

I am new to this site so bear w/ me. As far as a leaking spring form pan, if they give you any grief about returning it or whatever, and you happen to like it a lot, do what IO do. I make home style cheese cakes constantly and have a couple of pans that leak slightly, but, I will and CAN'T part w/ them. What I do is put a piece of Parchment paper over the bottom, lock the top in place and trim the excess paper. Every thing bakes beautiful and zero leaks. Hope this helped. Nice to meet you as well. I'm from Long Island, originally from the good OLE BRONX, when it was nice, lol. Yes, I am a good cook. I do catering on the side. My other line is being a contractor.I do home maintenance, painting, power washing, sheet rocking, etc etc etc. BUT, my love is cooking. I usually look at a recipe that hits me, and then make it my way. As of date, 99.5% of the times it comes out better than the original. I also go to good restaurants, and order something I never had, and go home and make it my way as well. lol. Hope to share some of my recipes with all. PS... I make a to die for cheese cake, pignoli cookies, and Cannoli's. (the Cannoli's come from a recipe I happened to come upon, and it's circa the 50's Arthur Ave Cannoli's). That was a good tip about the Parchment Paper to stop leaks.
I mentioned the PP in one thread but if she can exchange it and the new one don't leak, that's better.

OMG!! You guys are so funny. Sorry I was gone so long but as I am sure you all know - stuff happens.

I sent the Springform pan back to Kaiser for a warranty replacement and hopefully they will agree the pan is faulty. I can't believe I did this but I actually sent it back with the burnt on leak still on the pan so they could see it leaked all around.

And yes, I had to pay the shipping back to them.

and it wobbles to and fro...
I can tie it up with string
I can put it in the sink
but the pan - it still does leak!!

I did ask for a Postage label and they refused. Yup, refused. So if you want to go there and give them 5 across I'm all for it. Are you in NC? I just want my pan back and working as it should be. I love the concept.

I do not use springform pans, but I have seen recipes that require using a pan within a pan (like the recipe below).

I hope shipping wasn't expensive - perhaps you can get a replacement shipped to you for free. Good luck!
