I hate to ADD to this thread...but clarification is in order: -First of all, this thread would be perfect for the Hot Topics Forum...but "it dont fit" in Hot Peppers or Hydroponics. -"Troll" is not a comment on one's appearance/stature/etc: In Internet terminology, a troll is someone who intentionally posts derogatory or otherwise inflammatory messages about sensitive topics in an established online community such as an online discussion forum to bait users into responding (Wikipedia) -Posting the identical off-topic message to multiple groups is typical troll behavior. I realize however, that Willard's intent may have been merely to rant, not to 'troll'. -The ads are indeed annoying and frustrating; but I have yet to see one that is "offensive". -If the ads annoy you...I agree with John...email the specific advertiser or gardenweb... --Don

Partymusic, sorry, I don't have experience with Yahoo, but I want to address Lars' complaint about Gmail. Lars, in Gmail you need to "label" any messages you want to save, and then Gmail will make folders for you. The icon for "label" is in the row at the top, to the left of "more." You can label the message multiple times (for example, by names of correspondents or by subject ... whatever you wish; you can also nest subtopics under main topics). The message will remain in your inbox until you decide to "archive" it (in the row at the top, it is the first icon on the left, a down-arrow). When it's archived, it will disappear from your inbox, but you will see a list of labels (i.e., email correspondents or topics) on the left, and you can click and view it again. So the list of labels/correspondents is really a list of "folders." Sue

Mark, thank you, I hope....after going to the site you wrote about, I think I have opt outed of 96 companies that were advertising. 96! Hopefully this will continue to work...I did have to allow third party cookies, hope this doesn't open a new can of worms???? Thanks, I do not miss the killer rapper guy. Edited to say....NEVERMIND!!!! I'm still getting the ads. After checking out 3 threads and seeing zero ads, they were back on the fourth.
