I.am relisted and it wasn't pretty

Geez Louise talk about stressful!!

Just wanted to let you all know the relisting is DONE but not before it got UGLY!!

I mean imagine 2 grown men-supposed to be professional-acing the fool!

So Friday am I get a call from the new agent Ed saying the old agent has not removed me from the MLS yet. Ed cannot list me until the old listing has been removed.

So I call the old guy John and imagine my surprize when at 9:30 am it was John who actually answered the phone...anyhoo he says he will not remove my listing until he hears from the agent who looked at my house on Thursday.

(appearently the guy who went thru the house on Thur loved the house-yea ok make an offer LOL)

So I tell John he has until 12 noon get ahold of the guy and to remove my listing.

Well 12 noon comes and goes and yep-its still up!

At 12:30 I call John office and he is not there-surppize.

Told he "just" left for a settlement.

Knowing a settlement can go all afternoon I ask to speak to Johns boss the "broker of record" and he is just as much of a jacka$$ as John but he says he'll see what he can do.

He was basically telling me to keep the house up out of courtesy to John.

In the meantime I have Ed coming over to place his sign.

Before Ed get there I get this frantic call from John at about 1:45 pm saying he has been in a 4 hour settlement and wants to know what "my" problem is?

I called him a liar and told him to get his d@mn sign off my lawn...he starts to mumble something under his breath and I simply say "look its over-you failed at the task of selling my home-you and your company could not even get me an offer in 6 long months all the while I see house go up and sell all around me so take me out of the computer now and I want the sign down yesterday!!

He hung up on me just as Ed pulls up.

I was talking to Ed in the kitchen when Drew looks up to the door saying John had just ripped the sign out of the yard and spit on the ground as he put it in the car!!

Then he pulled away!!

How mature!!

So it took the better part of the day Friday but before I went to bed my new listing went up!!

My new listing number is 5518003.

I am now with Keller Williams real estate and I already have a showing scheduled!!

My asking price is $84,999 with a 6% assist and one year warranty.

You know its funny too because the market is climbing again and homes are going for far more but I am keeping this price since it will give me enough to move with just a little to spare for last minute incidentals.

The pics are not up on the listing yet-prob sometime today so I will put up the link when they do...I have seen them on the trend and it looks GREAT!!

The open house IS going to happen next Sunday.

HOPEFULLY we can sell soon so I can move on!!

Susie - I'm so glad the nightmare with the agent from #$%^ is over. I hope this is turning a corner for you. Looking forward to seeing new pix!

I agree with what others have said. I don't blame you for being disappointed. But as Beth is your very good friend, if I were you, I'd assume (not just out of giving the benefit of the doubt to a friend, but because it's probably true) that one or more of the reasons suggested by others are probably the case. The bride and groom controlled the guest list, and it may be a small wedding. Indeed, even if it's a 300 person wedding, the couple may have been stubborn about "No friends of our parents! Just people that WE are close with!" Beth may well have pleaded with them to invite you and your husband and been shot down, and she probably feels terrible about it. I don't like that attitude; it's true that it's the couple's wedding, but it's also true that your child's wedding is a very big event in your own life, and it's nice to be able to share it with the people you are close with, too -- certainly your very best friend. And it's not just that day, either -- for all those months of planning, it's very awkward not to talk about it with your best friend, but you really shouldn't if they are not to be invited. For a thirty person wedding, fine, Mom's best friend probably isn't invited, but for a big wedding, I think that the brides and grooms should be more generous about it. They won't even notice the people that they don't know well. At our son's wedding last year, this came up. The kids were flexible about it and we were able to compromise: more of our friends than they wanted, fewer than we wanted. (The fact that they chose to have the wedding in our city made this more of a problem for us. If the wedding had been in the city where they live or where her parents live, then we could've given a party here for our friends and invited more people to that, fewer to the wedding. But as the wedding was here, that would have made an A list - B list situation, so we couldn't.) This is an unfortunate consequence of the shift that camlan pointed out: brides and grooms (not just older ones) being both hosts and guests of honor at their own weddings. But the parents are still hosts, too, especially if they are paying or otherwise involved in the arrangements, and it can be really awkward when the bride and groom don't let you be as hospitable as you feel you need to be.

Not sure what your climate is - however, I'll share my own experiences with Thompson and Chardonnay types. The Thompson was planted on an arbor - this is it's 3rd spring. Actually, It didn't look like it was going to survive either. Some one said they get "Pierce" disease, and I assumed that was the problem. The main vines got all spotty - and the leaves looked awful. I learned grapes need severe pruning - (90 %) - so whacked it pretty hard and said a prayer. This spring - I tossed some aged chicken manure at it - even tho it looked almost dead. Well - the sun came out - the weather got warmer and now the entire arbor is full of vines. So maybe it's just a quirk - but for now I'm hopeful. The Chardonnays are in another spot - an arbor next to the house that reflects southern sunshine - and is looking very well. My only concern is - that my location - 6 blks from the ocean - with summer fog - may not be to their liking. But who knows - perhaps this year they will be stronger. Recovery is in the wind...and just to help it along, I used all of Mr Campanula's beer money (which he can no longer spend due to antibiotics) and ordered a slew of plants to address the now defunct spring border. Previously, this little neglected patch has cowered beneath a vast honeysuckle, many dull hellebores and out of control japanese anemones so the wayward spraying really did me a favour by ruthlessly clearing a whole heap of perfectly alright but irredeemably boring plantage...and in a teeny tiny garden, all plants must pay their way. Eldest has aleardy gifted me with a little impatiens omeiensis (a complete unknown to me), along with thaictrum kiusianum (sp?), a gorgeous saxefrage fortuneii with sugar pink flowers and deep red foliage...so I added in a pulmonaria longifolia, another bunch of thalictrums, including t.diffusiflorum, a large flowered rareity, White Ness geranium, a little anemone White Swan, a couple of pale yellow hellebores and several alchemiilas. Have dug up the Elka narcissi, along with a few Thalia, a handful of cyclamen and I think I am ready to go. Oh yeah, taking Maisie's advice, have planted up a tub of purple verbena and scarlet begonias (with the Grateful Dead song humming away in my head). Illness still stalks the halls but I have just put my bike into the menders (such idleness) and am taking what remains of the summer into my own hands.

Elmer, but I want American potato salad made the way my Japanese mom made it. Sjerin, he is from France. He decided on carrots, and green beans. Found some pretty multi colored carrots in Trader Joe's today and so we will "grill" them in the toaster oven. We got up extra early to go to a bakery in Lexington so he could get a baguette. We also picked up a couple other bakery items and we had fun trying them when we got home. Thanks everyone for the ideas. My American potato salad is done now and chilling in the fridge.

Susie, glad you are rid of the spitter.

You are no pushover! I hope you are never mad at me.

Good luck with the sale. Now that spring is here, even more people will be out looking.

Susie, I really think you had a lot of nerve. You actually expected them to do their job, listen to your feedback and act accordingly! What gall! Why would they be mad...?...if anything they should be mad at themselves for not only performing in a sub-par manner, both personally and professionally and not being the least bit reasonable in cutting their losses and creating goodwill by releasing you early from the contract.

Funny story though. Eleven years ago when we were selling our first home we had a realtor that actually was pretty good. I wanted a few extra thousand than what he appraised the house at and he went with my number. It sold for that amount too, which I was pretty happy and proud of myself over. The inspections went through without any repairs needed on my part and closing went off without a hitch. However, my DW got into a tizzy over some small thing that I can't even recall now and the realtor said to her over the phone "Would you like a little cheese with that whine?". Well....she refused to speak with him after that, would not accept his apologies and because he usually took clients out to dinner after closing, and Laurie would have none of that, he brought over a $100.00 bill with a card. She still wouldn't even speak to him. H**L hath no fury! Sounds like you are a bit like my wife Susie-que!

Heck, I am not shy...anyone who knows me knows that LOL!
I am also a Libra so when I see obvious fault I beome the squeaky wheel so to speak.
Na my feelings aren't hurt...I mean I don't wish John or Mike (his boss) any ill will...but I am going forward with the grievance.

In the meantime I had a showing today, 2 tomorrow and another on Wed (I had this particular agent before).

Ed stopped by today...seems the pics did not show too good online so he took some new pics and had a nice visit.
We talked about the open house which he said I really do not need to do anything...he would take care of everything.

I just have to make sure its clean and ready to show!!

Frank feels confidant we made the right choice by switching to Ed instead of someone else.
