Winter birds arriving

This past Saturday during a conversation on my back porch I thought I saw a female painted bunting in one of my maple trees. I thought this was a bit early in the month for that. Today, I definitely saw two female painted buntings in my backyard, and for good measure, saw a catbird above my palmettos. I checked my log from last year, and it was almost the same, around 10/7/08 for some of my winter friends to show up. This is great, as I'm sure many on this board also love watching their winter birdies.
