I recently moved, and I no longer see my Carolina Chickadees. I really miss those adorable little birds. Those, and Cardinals were most prevalent by far in my North Florida home. Despite their size difference, the two shared the space very peacefully. Living further south now, I see mostly sparrows and wrens as songbirds, and pairs of Doves on the ground. But, I have much bigger Ibis, Ducks, Anhinga and even an occasional Great Heron, not exactly bird feeder birds. But it's all good!

Thank you for this informative article that helps introduce others to this sweet little bird.

Our development is home to an abundance of wildlife with its prairies and woodlands there is a diversity of food sources. We are 450 above the Mississippi River on a bluff with walking trails that lead to a trout stream that feeds into the river so there is also the atrraction of water for wildlife.

I see many varities of birds here at our home in Wisconsin. Chickadees are one of my favorites. They may not be dressed fancy, but they are adorable and fun to watch because they are full of energy! When I go to replenish my feeders these little cuties barely wait for me to put the feeders back in their places before they hop on them. I have read that they can be acclimated to humans by putting a glove on the feeder to get them accustomed to it. Later, you can put your hand in the glove and they will perch on it. I haven't tried it but if I do I will let you know the results.
