Midst of a winter storm and my orders are arriving...

Uh, help!

My Whitman order for currants and gooseberries along with my Stark nut trees have been delivered to my farm. Meanwhile we are having 6-10 inches of snow today and then the great melt-off and soggy ground afterwards.

Suggestions of where to stow these trees and shrubs in the interim? They are bareroot and leafless.

Choices--unheated stone cellar

Unheated pool building where the water freezes up (No pool liner--just dirt and water at the moment) if the day is cold enough.

Can they stay in their boxes as bareroots for a while?

SHould I do something to the roots to keep them from drying out and how often?

I didn't expect these until April!
