My husband works for a Big Box Home Improvement Co whose logo is NOT orange. When he first started these stoers had only been in the South and he worked at one of the first Northern ones. That winter they got things like::: plants in January! Ummm---not so much! And they had a hard time getting things they NEEDED like---shovels. And salt.

So one day hubs called the Ordering Dept and told them he needed shovels salt snow blowers and oh yes---snow rakes. The poor person on the other end had no clue what a snow rake was. Being a man of humor he decided to have a little fun and told her:::: These are for when the City Folk come to their weekend places. When they get there the snow is all pretty and smooth. But----after the plow trucks come and the kids build forts etc--the snow is all churned up! Now we can't have the neighbors look at THAT mess now can we. So they buy SNOW RAKES and have the kiddies or the hired man go out and RAKE the snow until it is all pretty and smooth.

Well! I never HEARD of such a thing!!!!

Was the reply.

He finally admitted that the rakes are to get the pretty and smooth snow OFF of the roof so it does not COLLAPSE under the weight of all that pretty snow.

HE got his SNOW RAKES.

And a good laugh.

Very good article-> think and prevent. Accidents in this period of time happen in a split second. And do not forget: keep-your-eyes-open. Like the little birds on one of my paintings below ; )
