Fall swap in Tampa Bay?

I emailed Laura, who held last years fall swap, and she isn't going to do it this year.

I had so little to share during the spring swap due to the freeze that I've spent all summer starting cuttings...and now no swap?

Anyone interested?

load up the truck and head to deland, will swap ya for anything i don't have. bring you nippers......yard is going wild!

Paul, I'm thinking it's going to be about the same size as last year. I've sent out over a dozen address emails to new people, then add in people like you and Tom and others who already know the address. Then add in a handful of neighbors, and a couple of my gardening friends that aren't online. And last year, some people carpooled so that means a few more than I sent emails. So I'm thinking it will be a decent crowd again. Tom, I'll earmark the orchid pots for you. I'm guessing just 3-5 of the bowls will work. I'm not sure what I'm putting in them yet, I'm just sick of the pets breaking things so want to move to plastic. Tina, thanks for the lemon grass! See you all soon!

Thanks so much, Lori, for sponsoring the "Tampa Swap". I really enjoyed meeting and putting faces to those I follow on GardenWeb. We stopped at Crowley's on our way home and all I can say is, WOW!!! We met Kathy Crowley and she helped us with our selections and then squeezing them into the car. It was almost as neat as the swap. I got a couple of vines I had been looking for. I feel like King Midas with all his gold with all the neat and unusual plants I got at the swap. When we got home it was raining pitchforks and so we got up early this am, before light almost, and planted the bareroot stuff. The stuff in pots is going to have to wait until about Tuesday if the weatherman knows what he is talking about. But I am not complaining about the rain. See you at the next swap! Bill

well, since starting this thread things have changed. A couple days ago, hospice discharged my father (for those that don't know I caretake him, he's going to be 91 next month, has dementia but otherwise healthy, which is why hospice discharged him). That means I lost the volunteer that would stay with him so I could get out. As his dementia gets worse, fewer and fewer of my friends/neighbors feel comfortable staying with him, and medical sitters for the number of hours a swap/drive time would take is beyond me at the moment. When I went to the Spring Swap at Lori's, I was amazed at the loot I latched onto, and most of it is doing very well thank you.... Lori was a wonderful Hostess, and it was great to meet some of the GWer's... so I hope we can have a Fall Swap, I'll pot up a bunch of that Blood Leaf and more stuff from the garden.... sally

Well, I don't have anything going except a handful of extra tomato and pepper seedlings. I'm hoping to get some flower seedlings going for the spring but right now work has been a bear and I'm behind just in focusing on the veggie garden.

We could have a seed swap by mail if there aren't enough people interested in a plant swap in person.

Lori, is it too far for you Tampa folks
to drive over here to St Petersburg?
I can have a swap at my place,
but it has to be on a Sunday.
Right now I can't do it at all in Sept,
So how about in Oct?
The best day for me would be
Sunday Oct 31 (Halloween day).
Anybody game???

I'd have no problem driving over there, I'd love to see your yard. Obviously, I can't speak for anyone else.

Cheryl, me too, I can't wait to see your place. I have ridiculous quantities and varieties of flower and veggie seeds I can bring. If this does come about we can start an Exchange Page so I can post the seeds I have available.
