What is your quirk? Of the subject a bit, but fun!

I don't know what it is about my palate or genes or if it's learned, but I can't stand peppers, red, green, yellow, cooked or raw, broiled or boiled. They dominate the whole flavor of whatever I am eating, a taste I don't like, and that is all I seem to taste. I like the hot peppers for the sting, but not necessarily the taste. They look so beautiful when canned with other veggies.

I have a nephew who hates onions (something I absolutely love). His Dad separated from his Mom (my sister) when he, my nephew, was very, very small. Guess what! His DAD hated onions! Is it genetic? Just the uniqueness of our DNA?

What is is that you can't tolerate, or dominates instead of blending and complimenting a dish? Have you lost or gained a taste preference as you age? In my middle days I have found a fondness for anything lemony. Could have cared less when I was younger.

Of course, I'm sure all you wonderful cooks and canners out there love everything, but maybe I'll see a few respond.
