Best place to buy Sluggo in bulk
Comments (1)I'd love just to be able to buy it at all! I've looked at the Big Box Stores and local hardware stores and all they have is "Bugetta"! I like the idea of "Sluggo" being nontoxic except to those slimy things! Tomorrow, I am going to try the nursery that I have a gift certificate from Mother's Day to spend---on hosta, of course and maybe some "Sluggo" if they have any!!! janice...See MoreCheapest place to buy 5 x 7, 8 x 10 frames?
Comments (3)I usually buy mine at yard sales. Couple of dollars at most. You can go to the dollar store and get them cheap and then just add cardboard attachment yourself. Also check flea markets, goodwill, st. vincent, etc....See MoreBest places to buy bulbs in bulk?
Comments (11)Van Engelen is the sister company of John Scheepers. You can buy larger quantities for a better price. I've always received nice quality bulbs from them. They send them to me at my planting time which is around the first two weeks of October. Once I received a smaller quantity John Scheeper's bag in my Van Engelen order. When I called about it, the woman said, "they must have pulled from the wrong side of the warehouse." So they really are one in the same. You get a bit of a cost break for bigger quantities of bulbs from VE. If I ever want to try something in a smaller quantity I order from JS. I'm sure the other companies mentioned are also good, but I've been so happy with my VE orders that I haven't tried any others, except the occasional boxed bulbs from Sam's Club or Costco....See MoreA good place to buy bulk compost in the SLC area?
Comments (4)Hey Frank, It looks like you've been doing your research and are looking for high quality compost, so this may not be what you're looking for, but I love buying compost from the Landfills. The one out in South Jordan/Herriman, http://transjordan.org/rates/, they say this about their compost "Compost is material derived from ground wood, grass and miscellaneous greenwastes that are composted for 3+ months then screened for size." Its really inexpensive at only $35/ton. In the past, I've only used it as top soil because its really dark and looks nice. However, it does have some larger wood chips in it, up to 1 in twigs. This year, I plan to till it into my flowerbeds and garden to break up my thick clay soil. I've heard the Bountiful Landfill has good stuff too thats even 'finer' at the same price....See Moreshirleywny5
