I don't know how to spell it but most mordern roses are 'wusses'

My main bed is a stone bordered, raised bed with 27 roses in it (I counted them). Room for a couple of more. I call it the round bed but more properly it could be called the death bed. Lot's of new roses died there. All of them Modern Roses. Now there is an Apothecary Rose and Rugosa Alba there both of which threaten to take over particulary R. Alba. Why is that modern roses so frequently lack toughness? Or vigor? Most destined to be gone after a couple of decades. I suppose it is just another example of planned obsolescence. Or is it that we anxious to want the new and novel go for them! Yes I suppose it is our fault. And the need for rose growers to want to stay in business.

Please somebody just label a wuss a wuss when they see it and spread the word!
