Could be weather-related. I wouldn't confirm mislabelling until you've seen blooms in other weather conditions.

OTOH, It wouldn't hurt to contact the vendor, and tell them that you MAY have a mis-labelled rose.

My Teasing Georgia is always more apricot in cooler weather. By late July it looks more yellow.

I went to other sites and some of them actually call this rose a yellow/apricot. I just don't see any yellow around the leaves..just the center.

We have had tons and tons of rain...I wondered if that made a difference. Now it's in the 90's and heat indexes of 111 !!! That could very well be it.

I can't believe they may have mislabeled both of these but I guess anything's possible! Guess I will wait and see if the next flush is better?

Mine was definitely yellow, what I would call a muted yellow, a very pretty color. However, I didn't have it very long since for me it didn't rebloom much and it had those skinny octopus arms.

The color really varies on this one. Sometimes it's butter yellow, other times it's very peachy-apricot. A beautiful rose, but I've been underwhelmed with the bush.

I'm seriously considering this rose for next year. HMF says it is very blackspot resistant - is this so?

Well....Mine has tons of buds and a couple have bloomed. This bush is growing like crazy for a first year...what it will do after that I don't know. Both are beside a huge arbor. As far a blackspot...not sure yet...don't have a lot of that in Ky. I'm told...we'll see.Will let you know. Saw the first JB today and it was on a bud of Scent From Above. Hear they like yellow so may be glad it's turning out to be a peachy color!!!

As far as blackspot, mine appears to be doing ok, I do not spray.

TG has shown above-average blackspot resistance after several years in a no-spray public garden here.

Mine hasn't really gotten much in the way of blackspot or mildew, but it's one of the worst roses in my yard for canker. I had 2, one succumbed to canker in the spring. I've also had a problem with the canes snapping off at the base. Not my favorite rose so far. A shame; the blooms are lovely.

I have 2 that are HUGE and had to have a good 4 feet taken off of them so that I could train them better. It didn't seem to slow them down any though. I have a no spray garden and they have a bit of black spot but it doesn't slow them down at all. These 2 pictures are from the 1st spring flush. The next flush after this one had more yellow in them but mine are a creamy butter yellow:

Great to know it's not so prone to black spot..thanks so much for the responses!! I haven't seen any yet. I do not know much about canker so I will have to educate myself and watch carefully. I will wait and see about the canes breaking off....I will try to post a picture of the larger bush as it's really full of blooms right now and so far nothing seems to be eating it. It IS an octopus like someone said though....I could use advice on how to train it to the arbor however. Should I start now tying the canes to the right where the arbor is? Seems my Scent From Above since I tied the laterals horizontally hasn't had any blooms on those yet..the main cane is blooming well though. Keep thinking I've done something wrong!

The pics are lovely and my roses aren't quite that yellow tint yet but there does seem to be some. In a way I think I will love this rose...yellow seems to be attracting the beetles. So far I've only seen a beetle on the Scent F A and I watch daily. Course they are on the Wisteria....that stuff is a feast to them so I'm thankful for it. It's almost impossible to kill!!! Anyway...thanks so much for your pics...it's so good to know yours are large and thriving and gives me hope!!

I also need to know exactly what a "first flush" is. If you have only one bud that opens and there are no others is that considered a first flush? Should you then fertilize that bush after cutting the bud off? Also..if there are many buds I take it you wait until those open before fertilizing? Some have many and others of course don't.

I should have fertilized my miniatures last week but I waited as the heat was sooo intense. I cut a few blooms off them that were spent and one off my Iceburg but haven't fertilized as was waiting for this break in the weather. I didn't want to burn anything. Best to fertilize late in the afternoon I take it?

After I fertilize...when should I then use epsom salts, fish emulsion, and bone meal along the way? I have to write down these schedules per bush as I have 14!!!

Train early, train now. I didn't and I have no idea how I'm going to do it since it does act like a gargantuan octopus. The canes are THICK and the thorns PLENTIFUL. When I hacked mine back I piled the canes up for the hubby and told him to either wear gloves or use the pruners to pick up the canes. He ignored me and got his ass handed to him. By the rose cuttings. Dummy.
Don't stress the fertilizing too hard, take more time to enjoy the plants you have. I never fertilized mine and I don't think they could have grown faster than they did. Heck I didn't even amend my soil and ours is a new subdivision, I'm sure the 1" of dirt we have can't possibly be of any real quality.
Rose growing should be a pleasure. If it takes putting schedule up on my calendar for feeding and what not then it's more work than my husband and not worth it. Just a personal belief, take it for whatever that is worth.

LMAO!!! Too funny!!! The darn thing does have a lot of nasty thorns!!!! You are right...the only reason I write anything down is that I have 14 rose bushes and I didn't want to kill something. I have indeed enjoyed the Georgia blooms....very nice and just full of them right now!! We've had so much rain that stuff in the garden started to lack and that fish emulsion seemed to really perk things up!!

BTW...Dang Beetles on my Crown and Georgia this morning but only one each...embedded themselves in the bloom...I sprayed the nasty eaters!! So far we don't seem to have many but we are finally getting relief from the heat..the weather is Heavenly this week in the 80's and not humid...man..my garden needed a rest!!! Glads are doing well and black-eyed susans are about to burst out! My Evelyn now has buds too. I'm off this week so I can enjoy the roses and all the stuff blooming out now!! So...you are right...enjoyment is what this is all about!! So glad I have the time this week. Grandkids coming tom and staying overnight to swim and such...Evie will be so excited her rose is about to bloom finally!!

If I go ahead and use twine to place the canes to the arbor...do I just need to gently stretch each cane toward it for now? Each cane will have to go to the right and you are def correct about how this thing grows!!! Seems I'm not getting any blooms on my Scent From Above where I've put them horizontal on the fence...not yet anyway...maybe that won't happen until next year. Just wondering if I have to be all that concerned about breakage if I pull these canes too far. My Crown Princess hasn't been trained yet..I may have to do that tonight too...It's very tall now and blooming from bottom to top! Don't have an arbor for it! Thanks!!! :))))
