Rose Id help - 2nd photo

I am unable to post more than one photo at a time, so here is a second photo of the rose I am trying to ID

Molly, from the look of the flowers and the fact it was labeled as a climber, my guess is it will turn out to be a Joseph's Coat. Both this and Don Juan are favorites of the mass producers who fill body bags for discounters such as Wally World.

It is also very possible it might be Pinata, bred from Joseph's Coat. Kim

thank you, Kim! After looking closely at the photos of Joseph's coat and Pinata, I feel really sure that mine is JC. The petals curl back more than Pinata and the blooms on my rose are more the size of JC. It's the only body bag that has survived (of the 3 that I have purchased in my lifetime).

Ken, I promise not to post no more ID photos. I just was a wee bit excited and wasn't thinking how many hosta's can look so much a like and be different. Since I am not doing a hosta garden for show or anything it does not matter what their names are only if I like the way they look. Right, Melati, I do not think it is Pearl Lake either... I did check it out and it does not seem to be right. But thank you for the suggestion. Nance, I have had Blue Cadet and it is for sure not that and as I told Melati I do not think (though it may be) PL. Thanks for trying to help. Stephanie

hollysprings - Thanks for the heads up. You seem to assume that PRO's aren't involved. As far as the structure goes - all steel, lvl's, ridge beams, joists, rafters, etc.,etc., etc., have been engineered. So there is no doubt that it will not fall down around my ears. What I need is folks opinion on layout, not on structural elements.....do you have any suggestions that way?

I don't know that I'm qualified to answer this or not. Here winter prunes all of my canes down to the ground nearly every year. Then when they grow the following spring they send out nice thick basil growth. I'd wait until it time to prune for your area. Then prune to the ground its bound to send up thick healthy canes. I can't see a negative to doing this. Hope this helps you Bonnie.

Yeah, I would tend to agree. That is something I did grow in my last garden, Solidago rugosa "fireworks" and before I posted I decided that it was developing to look very much like that was. I think that your suggestion is correct, going with my gut feeling. I was hoping for Campanula persicifolia, but didn't see that happening the past few weeks since my original post. I didn't mind my goldenrod, actually. I grew it with very tall dahlias, red ones with a gold eye, of which I don't know the name of, and they bloomed together and looked nice. I had more space then, but did bring my dahlias with me. They are sadly unplanted, but perhaps this is a push to find a place for them on the other side of the yard and I can move the suspected goldenrod out from where I don't want them and plant them all together and see what becomes of these suspects! :-) Thanks for the post, atlamol!

Thank you for your help in establishing an ID for my rose. The thing that is striking about the blooms, other than the constantly changing of color, is that the mature blooms have petals that curl back deeply (quilled?).
