Opinions on Fall Lawn Care Procedure

Greetings, all. First time poster here. Was hoping to get some advice from the experts here on the lawn care procedure I wanted to follow.

First off, I have sent my soil off for testing. It came back indicating that I did *not* need any lime this year. I should only assume that I should trust these results.

I live in Northern VA and currently have Tall Fescue as my seed of choice.

1. Automatic De-Thatcher from a rental company. (I know de-thatching can damage a lawn. But I have SO much thatch that it would be impossible to grow grass without it.)

2. Automatic aeration from rental company

3. Seed

4. Fertilize

My questions are the following:

*Would it hurt to de-thatch about 5-8 days before I aerate? If it would not be advisable, then I'll de-thatch one day and aerate, seed, and fertilize the next.

*Would applying a weed killer (Weed Be Gone Max) hurt my progress?

*Will doing this in the middle of September when the temps are in the 70's be advisable? I understand that Fescue needs a ground temp of about 50-65 degrees to germinate successfully. True?

*I have a 5,000 square foot lawn. How much grass seed should I use? More than the recommended?

Thanks so much in advance!
