Yep. Tell Brown to stop dumping millions of gallon of water into the ocean and restore the 2 dams he destroyed for the "fish." We still have more than we had 2 years ago and he is dumping on the residents when 80% of water is used by agriculture. Plus, It is still cheaper to water, than pay the fine to let grass die or relandscape.

Maybe someone will see this, last post was quite a few days ago and it took me three days to read through all the posts, finally gave up and just looked for the end. We live in Simi Valley, a suburb of northern Los Angeles. We bought this house 3 yrs ago and the yard was a mess. Looked ok in the listing pictures, but not what it was like when we took possession. We left the front for a couple years basically unwatered, took down some overgrown trees (I didn't want too, but hubby won that battle) and let things die. One winter ago, we enlisted the help of a landscaper friend to redo our front yard. It sounds typical, dry creek, rock waterfall, native grasses and shrubs. The kicker was, it is all drip, including the wave grass, which is considered a turf grass. Our landscaper used little tiny perforated line, 1/4in I think, under the green wave grass. It is gorgeous. Only put it along the edges of the dry creek, so there is not a lot, but it satisfies my husbands need for green and it all only gets watered once a week and doesn't need mowing, though it should be wacked down once a year. We own a half acre, have horses, a very small pool, and our water bill runs around $50 for two months. Judging from the compliments we get the neighborhood loves it, and our landscaper (who also lives in the area ) is very busy. Now on to the back yard, all sloping. My horse is going to miss his lawn.
