Need some schooling on caring for my grass.

Here goes nothing.... last july'ish I had all new saint augustine sod laid down (about 5200sq ft total)...

I didn't do much over the summer for the grass save for regular watering and mowing.

Now for this season, I want to kick it into gear, and make my lawn look great.

I keep reading "go organic", and I'm not that enthused about going that direction. We have no feed stores or anything really close by that carries the stuff you guys talk about. I live in the city, and finding that stuff around would take a while.

My wife and I work constantly, so I don't have all the time in the world to devote to the lawn. But I do want to make it look good.

I see the Scott's organic choice at the big home improvement stores. Is that stuff any good?

When should I look at fertilizing? I have weeds as well. What kind of weed killer can I put down, and when? What about a pre-emergent?

Thanks for any help you guys can give me!!
