I had no idea it's been around that long. I like the look of it undermounted, btw. It gives you a nice granite deck around the tub. Our current tub is the same size - 72 x 36" - with a wide deck so my tile deck is very narrow, leaving me little space to put anything decorative around the tub. But I'm pretty sure we can't swing the extra cost to undermount the tub so I'm glad to hear that you prefer it top-mounted. ;-) When you lay in it, is the water level deep enough to cover you without you needing to slouch lower in the tub? I've sat in a few that had comfortable backs but I realized that I'd need to scootch down to get all but my upper chest and shoulders below the water line. And I'm not tall at only 5'3-1/2". I discovered Kohler's bath pillow yesterday - slick idea and something I'll definitely need if I get this tub. We are installing it upstairs but I've checked with our contractor and weight is not a concern, not just installed but getting it upstairs. People always talk about weight with cast irons but the filled weight for acrylic tubs that hold gallons and gallons of water is rarely mentioned. At 8.35 lbs a gallon, the 102 gallon capacity, 5.5' acrylic Underscore tub ends up weighing 932 lbs total. That's 118 lbs more and 145 lbs more than the 52 gallon capacity Caribbean tub and the 62 gallon Sunrise tub, respectively. Both of these tubs weigh less than 100 lbs more, filled, than our current 70 gallon capacity, acrylic whirlpool tub. I was as concerned as you are about weight until my contractor went over the numbers with me and told me that if our 1990's era home's bathroom floor couldn't handle a couple hundred pounds more, we had far more serious structural issues to contend with. ;-)

Just today, in my house, a 66x32 Archer and a 60x36 Mariposa were roughed in. What a funny coincidence! If you have specific questions about how they feel (no water yet) or fit, I can climb around in them and try to answer them. I did a lot of research here and elsewhere, and both these tubs seemed to get a lot of positive reviews. I put the mariposa in my elderly mom's bathroom since it isn't quite so deep and is supposed to be very comfortable. I put the Archer in a narrower guest/kid bathroom (squeezing to get to 32, no way for 36) that will serve both my very tall (6'4) brother as well as ultimately my teens when they are adults . . . and my son is on track to be 6' + so I wanted one guest/kid tub that was longer. Both look great. The Archer is nicely shaped for a shower/bath set up, and the Mariposa looks good in the soaking tub set up I have it in. Just looking at them, I'd lean towards the Archer for a shower/tub set up for frequent shower use as the walls are narrower so easy to step over, while the Mariposa walls are wider (wide enough to put a roman tub faucet coming up out of the side wall, which is what I did) How tall/big are the users of your tub going to be?

Just installed a Kohler Levity shower door on a full bath remodel (we converted a full bath to a walk-in 3/4 bath). There is a major design flaw with this door, water leaks out from the bottom and sides of both panels and gets all over the floor. We visited the Kohler website and tried calling Kohler, but they don't have anyone answering phone calls for customer service. We went on Amazon.com and ordered generic silicone water seals to add to all sides of both panels in the hopes we can stop the water leakage. Overall, we are extremely disappointed with the design and performance of the shower door and with Kohler for that matter. The door is pretty and install is not terribly complicated (clear install instructions in the box and great install video on YouTube), the door just has some significant design flaws that Kohler needs to address.

Hi mh_bath, I wasn't entirely sure you are asking me, but since mine is the only pic that shows the horizontal overflow, I'm going to guess yes, so here's the answer: The overall length is 6'3". I am not sure whether using the horozontal overflow (rather than some other design) increases the depth or not... but it's a really nice deep soak. You can check specs for water depth; I do recall that this tub had a deeper maximum fill than many others I looked at. We set ours in a mud bed for stability and insulated all around it and it's wonderful... very solid feeling and keeps the water warm a looooooong time :)
