Where to put the TV? Edwardian home

I have an awkward Edwardian home and want to know where is best to put the TV. We have a fireplace with a relatively narrow alcove (32 inches) on the left of the chimney breast and open space on the right. Ordinarily we would want to put the TV in the alcove, but it's too narrow to fit a decent size TV (i.e. 40 inches or above). At the moment a 43" is literally squeezed in there, and is touching both sides.
We were thinking either to get a Samsung Frame and mount above the fireplace (and hide the wires too). The upside is the artwork looks great when art mode is activated, but I feel like watching it at that height might be a little awkward. Mounted, the middle of the TV would be around 160cm off the ground.
Another alternative is to place the TV on the right of the fireplace. This kind of doesn't work though, since viewing from the seating at the bay window is limited.
Any help appreciated, been milling over for about a week now to no avail.
