I was having problems with tiny screws that turned but wouldn't come out the whole way on the bottom of a laptop. Started researching it online some and most who had success with this said if you could get something underneath the screw you could gently pry it upward while turning, my problem was similar to this but not such a deep hole, so I used thread and floral wire to get underneath the screws...the one that was really tricky I used the thread. It was a little more time consuming to get the thread the entire way around the screw and it came off the first time so I decided to tie the thread around it the next time around. Then I did just gently pull it out while using the screwdriver a little more. I know this post was years ago but i was linked to it today so Hope this helps anyone else who has this kind of a problem. (on the other side of the plastic there were strange little washers that kept me from gaining access, I think they are there in order to keep the screws attached to the plastic so they don't get lost?)

Yes, I think so. The unevenness of the stain should help to hide watermarks, etc. We have solid dark charcoal stained lower cabs in our kitchen and while I love them, they show every bit of dirt, water marks etc. That lighter unevenly stained grey in the pic would be perfect (as well as really lovely!). We have a light carrera marble on our bathroom vanity and I thought it would stain like crazy, but after about 4 or 5 years, it still looks great. The kids do everything on it and have left neon mouthwash puddles, toothpaste, etc. It does have some minor etching, but that doesn't bother me.

I think this is what you are saying. Your niches are not like the original image but they are lined up in the middle of a row of tiles. But within that row, one niche is 3/8" higher than the other, like this: It would bug the heck out of me that they didn't start on a full tile in the first place, but that's usually how it ends up most of the time, like A or B. On top of that there is the3/8" height difference. I would have to compensate for this at the very least but using grout that matched the tile so I wasn't visually measuring that all the time. However, I was trained to differentiate between 0.5 of a mm for my job at one point, so 3/8" is huge to me visually. Not so with many people. Why do you know about it? Did you notice it yourself? If you did I think you have to have him change it. But if not, use grout that minimizes it.

I like it as is, because its not your standard cookie cutter niche, and it should function very well. You might even want to add a hook or suction cup in the area between the two niches, and you can hang a shower brush there.
