Attached please find a mock-up to scale of the living room. The room measures 17’ wide x about 25’ deep. There are irregularities in the wood floor about three feet in on each end, represented by dashes on the mock-up, that I’d love to hide with area rugs. I thought I’d find a 13’ x 20’ sea grass/jute/sisal area rug, but so far no luck.

Would it be strange to lay a 12’x18’ rug closer to the entry of the room (off-center) as shown in the mock-up? (I’ve added a Persian rug on top in the mock-up, centered to the room as furniture layout.)

Any help would be appreciated!
