How many of you have had skin cancer?

After 50 years of serious sunbathing, last year I made my first appointment with a dermatologist and was pronounced clear. Yesterday at my now annual visit and after examining every inch of my body, she was concerned about three problems on my face. Big keratoses and other weird blemishes were fine, she said . But on my face, she found three. One small crusty patch I pointed out to her and she froze it. Another one under the tip of my nose was hardly visible but felt rough and I pointed it out. She was concerned and biopsied that one and the last one was a small flat brown spot looking to be like any brown spot, she also biopsied.

In my younger years, this was my vice. I never drank, took drugs, and hadn't even smoked one cigarette in my life although most of my HS friends did. I knew eventually I'd pay for this sun exposure because a dark tan was desirable in those days. Today I don't find it attractive. I wish there would have been self-tanning creams back then.

She said I would get the results in two weeks and made an appointment for next year's visit, ironically on the big day...election day 2014. She put three small round bandages on and I took them off when I got home not reading the directions that they should be bandaged a week! They are still bare and I dabbed on Vaseline as told in the brochure. But I don't get the need for bandages particularly since one is on my nose tip and hard to place.

I would like some feedback from those of you who have had skin cancer(if it turns out to be cancer) Thanks.
