Small gray hex for bathroom floor, with mid gray hex on accent wall?

We're building a new bathroom, and I've bought the wall tiles - large 12x24 tiles for the shower (they have a subtle, cool, silvery metallic look), and one accent wall with 9-inch hexagons that are a mixture of mid gray, darker gray, and gray with a tropical floral print (Saona Lava and Aruba, I love them).

But now I feel like I've dug myself into a hole and can't find the right floor tile. I really want a darker color on the floor, so as not to show the dirt; and I hate very small tiles with lots of grout lines. Can I use 6-inch dark gray hex tiles for the floor, given I've already got some 9-inch, slightly lighter gray, hex tiles on the wall? I also just read that floor tiles should be larger than wall tiles, but my contractor doesn't seem keen to use large tiles on the floor (it's a continuous floor through the room and shower bc the shower is curbless).
