BEN MOORE WHITE- CHANTILLY LACE, SIMPLY WHITE or COTTON BALLS
Comments (30)I may be replying to an old post...having a white dilemma! Moving to a new home soon, and I need to choose a white for the painter soon! I used BM Cotton Balls in my current home in 2 bedrooms, one is north facing and the other is south facing. worked well...nice and bright but not stark, however the hallway to the rooms look beige, which I am not fond of. New home has both north and south exposures + a hallway without a lot of light. Considering Simply White. Second question...the baseboards are lovely and very high, I would like them to remain a feature, which white to choose for trim? Your comments are appreciated!!!...See MoreGranite with Benjamin Moore Dove White cabs? Via Lactea?
Comments (5)Oh yes, what Kristin S said....soapstone would look gorgeous in your kitchen. There are many different varieties of soapstone and you can either oil it or not, to get a completely different look. Soapstone varieties But a popular choice that I've seen mentioned here many times is I think call Jet Mist granite and people like it in a honed or leathered finish. Jet mist granite pictures If you want Quartz, then consider Silestone Charcoal Soapstone. I haven't seen this one in person but it looks very nice with subtle veining on their website. If it were my choice I'd go with soapstone. Any time I've seen it I just think it looks stunning and feels beautiful as well. There are some maintenance issues and there are many threads on Houzz you can search and read up on for opinions. Shiny black granite does not do it for me.....but it isn't my kitchen, so I'll leave it at that. I think you've got a gorgeous start there with really beautiful cabinets. Please come back and post some pictures when you've got it completed or have your choices narrowed down. Also, yes to herringbone tile - love it! Comments (3)It is very difficult for us readers to choose colors on the internet as they do not translate accurately. BM has many beautiful whites; pick up up more samples and look at them day and night. One will eventually show itself to you as being the best....See MoreCambria Everleigh Seams
Comments (34)In case anyone is reading this who is considering Cambria Everleigh, after months of working with Cambria to attempt to use this quartz we are changing course and redesigning our entire kitchen as the OP is correct that this specific quartz is having a seaming issue that is way beyond what is typical for most other quartz EVEN IF YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY EXTRA FOR BOOK-MATCHING. Please refer to the photo I posted, which is pulled directly from the Cambria website in their "inspiration gallery." We were attempting to create a similar look on our kitchen backsplash, which was purportedly a horizontally bookmatched design with the seams meeting in the center. Well, we came to find out that this photo is NOT an actual kitchen; it was created by Cambria's marketing department digitally. Because the Everleigh design, which is gorgeous in applications where you can use one slab with no seams, is extremely inconsistent throughout, even through the thickness the Cambria representative I spoke to today said that they could NOT guarantee the veins would align well at the seams, even if we paid extra for a book-matched pair of slabs - which is ridiculous IMO because looking like it's butterflied open with precise vein match is what bookmatching is. In my personal opinion, there's a bit of faulty advertising going on here, and if Cambria can't create what they have digitally shown then take this photograph off your website, so others aren't spending a long time attempting to create something the company isn't positive works and won't stand behind it if you proceed and it does not work as shown. These are extremely gorgeous slabs, but IMO proceed with extreme caution with Cambria Everleigh if your kitchen is so large you need to seam. OPs experience is not isolated, and we are lucky we had a fabricator who has worked with this quartz before and run into extreme issues with it, and said they now highly discourage it for any application requiring a significant seam. @DeWayne...See Morechispa
