Bench is good. Definitely wouldn’t do a floor lamp - I think it would clutter the space & just be awkward to get in / out of space around it. I do think art over the settee would be good. From the shadow on table cast by light, it seems that table is centered under light. If so, a hanging light sized appropriate for space works. If not centered then a larger flush mount fixture is the way to go.

Not much space

I agree that artwork on both walls and a pendant light fixture would be great. Pendants over tables are much easier on the eyes, and more flattering too (I hate the way everybody looks when under overhead lights).

There are kits that convert can lighting into pendants, like this. They don't require any electrical expertise, they screw in like a light bulb and then you slide a cover over the hole.

Since yours is not centered, you will want the cord to be longer so you can swag it, like below. (if you look at the pendant above, you will see that extra cord is wound up inside, so you can adjust the length.)

I’d aim to create the feeling of a room vs walkthrough by adding a collage on the two walls, and a hanging light, to help define/enhance the table and cozy up the space. See link below for help and head to Ikea. I’d remove the runner and add a decorative centrepiece.

I like what I see. Can you take a pic further back showing more of the area. I think large over-sized mirror on wall on the end could look cool.
