Almost Finished Master Bedroom . . . (pics)
Comments (9)The room doesn't say "Caribbean" to me, but it does say "Wow"! You did a great transformation with the crown molding, wainscoting, and new color. I think a matching slipper chair would look good since it would only be matching a tiny pillow and not the whole bedspread. I would reconsider doing picture frames in white. That would give the feel of being too matchy-matchy and take the focus away from your beautiful new trim. I would go with darker wood frames. I don't know what you are doing about window treatments yet but I think a couple touches of cream or ivory in the room would soften the contrast between the blue and white. Maybe sneak one of the cream pillows back onto the bed? Use a cream pillow on the slipper chair? Do the picture frames in cream instead of white if you don't like wood frames?...See MoreIs something missing? opinions on bedroom wall decor, please.
Comments (50)Oh my! You poor dear. I hope the surgeries are all behind you now. My new tablet is actually heavier than most books I read, but I have a hospital style tray I use in bed for both real books and the tablet. I have a neck issue, nothing serious, but if I hold anything too long with any weight to it I'll be in pain for some time because of it so I decided to get a rolling bed tray. It's not very pretty, but it works. Some day I plan on using it as parts to build a solid wood tray....See MoreWhat is missing from this bedroom?
Comments (25)I like that bed frame/headboard. IMO, bedroom rugs should be where you can step on them when you are getting in or out of bed. I prefer the shaggy one; the 2nd seems too small. Have you thought about placing the bed on a diagonal to the corner. It seems like there is space for that. Perhaps some art on the walls and curtains/shades would make the room seem less sparse?...See MoreLooking for Blue and White Something for Bedroom Wall
Comments (56)He is doing better, we are eight days out from surgery and he needs the walker less than he did. Back to the dr tomorrow, and another surgery in a couple of weeks. If I take the time to stop and think about it all, these last 18 months have been really terrible, and the year before that wasn’t much better. But it’s funny, you know? We have still lived our lives, bought a new house, sold our old one, sold our office building, MOVED, bought a car, switched all our insurance.....so many of the everyday things compressed in between DHs surgeries. And when I say “we” did it I really mean I did. I’m not complaining—I’m grateful—but just feel the enormity of what has happened and been done over the past few years. It’s little wonder I sometimes forget to take my pills at night. But we are here and all mostly in one piece and surviving just like everybody else. For a long time I could not even have imagined i would be at a point at which I could worry about finding something for a bedroom wall. Sometimes thinking about the small things makes you realize how many big things you have had to manage to get there. Thank you all very much for your concern, I appreciate it and all of you....See MoreRelated Professionals
