Please help me choose 3x6 or 4x8 backsplash tile
Comments (9)I had the same thoughts before reading everyone else's posts...The 3 x 6 is more 'standard' and traditional, while the 4x8 would be a little more unique and bring a modern or industrial twist or zing to your kitchen...which I can like with traditional elements. Depends on what you want it to do. And Plllog does have a point about smaller tiles fitting in around things better, but I wouldn't necessarily let that decide it for me. Will one fit in the spaces using whole tiles, while the other will require cutting all the way along? (Remember to figure in grout lines) Even if I liked one better, if the other fit in whole, THAT could sway me to change my mind....See MoreHelp with large window treatments (draperies OR curtains etc.)?
Comments (12)ninegret - that is a good idea w/ the 3 shades. I can ask a store but I'm curious how they would attach since we don't have 3 separate windows, it's one long window. The other issue is the middle window is about 10inches longer than the two outside so would you order one long shade or 3 separate and hang them from the top? I also agree french doors would be nice but we don't want to spend thousands to demo and close off that area and create french doors when there is a door to the 'game room' a couple feet to the left of the couch. It's a very large living room that is completely open to our kitchen and dining room on the other 2 sides and a fire place on the 3rd side so there are no other windows/coverings. It's an odd look that is difficult to figure out how to decorate so I appreciate the suggestions and any further comments. The previous owners had a good thought to enclose the back deck and make it a game room but it's created a little confusion on how to decorate the existing 'former' exterior window....See MoreHelp with choosing 3 large vanity mirrors in master
Comments (3)Hi there! Could you share pictures to help give a visual of the space? 1. I personally wouldn't do an LED mirror, but it depends on what your tile, cabinet, hardware, and paint color selections are. 2. I would keep it symmetrical, so at least all the same height. If the width is shorter or wider or one, I think that would be fine. Did you have a specific mirror style in mind? I think the minimum width should be 24in wide, height shouldn't go above top of bathroom door or nearby windows. 3. Since I've not used any LED lights in any of my spaces, I don't have the best answer here. I would say to make sure you look at the reviews of other consumers. And please post pics so I can see the space. That may change some of these answers. Hope this helps!...See MoreHelp needed choosing curtains or blinds for whole house!
Comments (12)I made some calls to Marvin. They told me there was no after sale blind for their Marvin Integrety doors (they do sell some for other doors). The also told me if I installed the Home Depot one you linked, it would void my warranty. They said their doors were sealed, so I could not pry apart the frame to add the shade/glass you linked. So, it does not look like this is an option. I think I am back to installing sheer shades on the outside of the door -- at least they will match the rest of the main level window coverings. I wish we had the option now to add door blinds like you showed, but it does not seem to be an option as far as my research has revealed....See MoreLorraine W.
