I have a frigdaire FL washer. mine is over 2 years old now. I bought it in april 2005 before The Affinity line came out. mine has no heater at all but I'm still happy with how it cleans. so far I have had no mechanical problems with it. my door doesn't look like its aligned quite right, it doesn't shut as flush to the frame at the bottom as it does the top. I had service look at it when it was less than a month old, they said they couldn't fix it with out ordering a new door and couldn't garantee that would make it look better. it has never leaked so we decied to leave it alone since it was sealing as it should. I like the machine and its been good I olny wish frigidaire's had a better fit & finish look, but then they sell at a lower price than the fancier brands.

Does your LG Front Loading Washing Machine smell like mildew? How about your towels? Have you owned your washer for a year or more? Try shining a flashlight directly back to the drum wall. Look in between the tiny grates. You will be horrified at what you see! What I saw was a nasty layer of mold and mildew that I could not reach to clean. The LG technician said to run a few cycles with 1/4 Cup of Cascade and 1 Cup of Bleach. So far I've run two cycles AND I tried squirting bleach directly through the grid with a spray bottle. No luck. Sure, its a little cleaner, but how many cycles do I need to run? And what about the the parts that are inaccessible to my spray bottle? I'm very allergic to mold. Little did I know that I was clothing myself with it everyday. That explains a lot in terms of how I've been feeling. I DIDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH MY TOP LOADING WASHING MACHINE!!

Cold only? Do the darks and save the bulky blankets, linens etc. for the awesome FL arriving- You'll be amazed how much more you can fit in the FL! I am a recent convert and (I think the LG has internal heater in the new one?) I can't believe how whites get white w/the high heat (I have the Bosch 500 plus)-you'll want to check that out!-Have fun- ps don't forget the HE detergent- you can read a ton about laundry detergent on this web- site .There are several good ones out there. With all the hype I had to try Charlie's soap- I do like it so far- just getting use to the no scent- I have to admit, I liked the smell of Tide!-Good Luck-and make sure they level it correctly!

"Plumbers are taking my money and not fixing the problem" Why do you pay them if the problem isn't fixed? A large whole house arrestor may be required to completly cure the hammer. The machine isn;t at fault but you might try installing flow restrictors in washer hoses. They are cheap and diy friendly.
