Madeline, check the install directions for the range. Most specify that you can not have any wood for a certain distance above the range, but the Viking range I bought was clear that it had a zero clearance ( meaning you could put wood right next to it) on either side. My range is butted up against a laminate countertop on top of a wooden cabinet and never had any problems. If you get a true commercial range, it will likely require some clearance on all sides, but the home versions usually allow it to be installed right next to a cabinet. Good idea of you to check. My brother had a kitchen with a 30 inch cooktop, and wanted to install a 36 inch, fortunately, the guy they hired to make the cutout in the granite countertop was on top of things and pointed out that it would be a fire hazard because the upper cabinets would then be directly above the cooktop ( the existing design had a 30 inch wall cabinet set higher on top of the vent hood, and the cabinets on either side were much lower )

It's easy enough to find if you really want it. The pans and utensils were mostly TJ Maxx finds. Everything else was mostly Amazon and Ebay, some walmart or dollar general, just random places. My brain is programmed to pick out pink things I think. I zone in and decide if I want it. The newest addition, the pink air fryer, was Home Shopping Network, which I found after a simple Google search for "pink air fryer." You know I work nights. Sometimes I get bored and go to Ebay or Amazon and just search for pink kitchen stuff. Or pink heart shaped stuff. Or pink whatever. Just to look. I finally discovered one I love; it looks like the one in the upper left - but I've sadly come to discover that not all that look like that work well. Mine is a Kamenstein, and the little stick on the side really doesn't matter and barely touches the paper towels anyway. It's the right tension from the center-spike-thing that allows me to use one or two at a time, as I wish. "Between dish towels and wash rags, I can't remember the last time I pulled out a paper towel. What are you using them for?" Here they can become part of the city's curb-side collection of organics (to be turned into compost), so I often use them instead of rags, as long as I'm not using any chemicals.

Christmas preparations are done, so I finally snapped some photos to share a few of my rosy things and had a hard time finding this thread again. The hand painted pictures and gifts made by children and family shown above are the most special. None of mine have that kind of sentimental value. I didn't realize how crooked these plates are until I saw the pic. Sheet music. A favorite print. Another rose rug and my Daisy girl. Diane and I both collect rose brooches from the 1800's and Haviland Limoges and Bavarian rose tea cups. Diane, we would love for you to share some of yours.
