I have had the bosch dishwasher for over six years and have never had a problem. Still operates and cleans very well, and is just as quiet now as it was when it was first purchased. I would highly recommend their dishwasher product. In regards to the ovens we are also looking for ovens and are debating between the 800 series bosch and the dacor discovery series. I have heard nothing but good things regarding the bosch ovens from all of the appliance stores including some high end retailers so I dont think you will go wrong with their ovens. I am leaning towards Dacor only because our retailer has one left of the old model and it is on clearance.

That stinks - the E30EW75GSS 30"w Icon oven was maybe the best oven out there. I never cared for those thick "pro" handles either visually or how they feel. Its still on their website but shows as discontinued on the online retailers I looked at. The EW30EW55PS is not a replacement for the "pro" Icon model; it's from the standard Electrolux line. So the best 30" ovens now are what? I'd look first at the Bosch and Gaggenau side-hinged door ovens, the GE double-oven-in-a-single-space Profile oven (which is still current, although it hasn't been updated to the new Profile styling which makes me wonder if it will disappear soon), and the upcoming GE Monogram French-door oven. Of course, the fate of both GE ovens is in flux given the impending sale of GE's appliance division to Electrolux. Although i've never liked drop-down doors on ovens, the Electrolux Icon's glide-out shelves, which are on all three racks in each oven and extend further than most competing brands, was a terrific oven overall in terms of quality, design, low noise, cleanability, features, and just how well it cooks. Sad to see it go.

I went over the warranty terms with great care yesterday (after the most recent customer sevice rep kept asking me whether I had read the warranty, presumably suggesting that I should not be bothering him with questions about the warranty). The salient points appear to be: 1. There is a 365 day warranty (beware leap years!) 2. Starting on the date of purchase (I am not sure what that date is. Is it the date of delivery? Or the date of payment or financing arrangements being made? Or the date the order is placed?) 3. There is no extension "for any reason whatsoever" of this warranty (i.e. if the problem arises on day 364 and the repair hasn't been made by day 365, you are out of luck.) 4. Replacement parts don't get a warranty extension either. 5. There is no warranty at all for a range which is sold as a store display or is sold "as is". 6. The warranty is automatically void if anyone other than an authorized service provider works on the range. Noone else is even permitted to explore "the appliance's inner workings." CAVEAT EMPTOR. Don't buy til you've studied the warranty

We also have a GE Profile FD w/water (PFCS1NJWSS) and so far have had no problems. It was purchased in August 2007 but not put into service until June 2008 or so (long remodel). As to the range, in our old kitchen we had a GE Profile electric range w/convection oven and it was the only appliance that lasted the entire 13 years w/no problems...and it's still going strong for the people we gave it to! Based on our experience w/the range, we opted for a GE Profile electric cooktop & the GE Profile Trivection double ovens. As w/the refrigerator, no problems so far. I love my ovens, btw! The only things I wish they had are the racks that stay in for cleaning, are full-extension, and glide on SS ball bearings. If they had been available on the GE Monogram version I would probably have purchased that one instead (but maybe not, I don't like the exterior design/look).
