My Siemens/Bosch dishwasher won't heat properly
Comments (7)Alex, The pressure chamber has been the cause twice for a similar problem as described here: http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/appl/msg0413510827197.html Although the symptoms are much the same, there are differences not present this time: - the special sound stemming from the lack of water in the sump - the ability to help the dishwasher finishing the cycle by throwing 2-3 litres of water into it Also, it does actually finish the cycle after 7-8 hours. I am pretty sure the pressure chamber or heat exchanger isn't the cause this time. But I could check if you think it could be the cause even though the symptoms are different. But what about the power consumption of the heater. At 900 mA at 230 V it consumes only around 100W. Even if the pressure chamber or heat exchanger was clogged, it would consume the same power, wouldn't it? I guest there is only a on/off function of the heater. If not the heater itself, I am wondering if there could be a bad connection somewhere etc. By all means correct me if I am wrong in my assumptions about how it works!...See MoreAppliance company won't deliver without hard walkway!
Comments (20)Today they arrived (again!!!!) and we had laid out special plywood that matched end to end--no tripping hazard. They tried to tell me that although I paid AJ Madison $200 for the white glove install and delivery, I owed them $20 per step. While I realize that many delivery companies do charge for this, it's not in my delivery contract and the delivery company never told me this info during the 5 telephone conversations we have had over exactly what material would be acceptable to accommodate delivery. I tell you, there are the companies that are "problem sovlers" and those that just compalin. The California delivery service that AJ Madison uses has been nothing but complainers! I have had a refridge delivered (another company), all my cabinets delivered, my VERY heavy all one piece concrete hearth delivered, etc. So I beleieved them when they said that the range was large and too heavy for delivery over plywood. Yet when they showed up, it was one guy with a heavy duty dolly and a helper who made sure they guy was guided correctly....WTF??? THIS was the too big, too heavy item that couldn't go over plywood???? If one guy can wheel it, how big could it really be? One stove/range. Sheesh. Some people are stuck in the "can't do" mode....if companies could only be in the "can do" mode the world would be so much easier! In the end, they never did install it--claimed the space was too small, even though my contractor got it in there, and left huge amounts of rubbish everywhere, never even trying to clean up the cardboard boxes, the plastic covering the burner covers, etc....See MoreNew Bosch Dishwasher won't clean dishes
Comments (24)There is definitely not enough water coming in. There's not even enough water to make it to the float switch. (the round thing in the photo behind your spray arm ) If your water valve is fully open, you most likely have a pinched water line or because the installer did not flush the water line before hooking it up to the new d/w you now have a clogged water valve screen.. This is an installer issue and they should take care of it for you. Most manufacturers will not cover by warranty an installation issue....See MoreNew Bosch Gas Range Won't Boil Water
Comments (36)We love this range, the burners have plenty of power. 2qts of water will boil on the high-powered corner burner in about 5 minutes, even faster in a big pot on the center burner. The center burner has plenty of power for authentic stir-frying with a residential-sized wok. The oven is fantastic and the even heat has really upped our baking game. (Note that the unit I bought also had gas orifices for each burner that that were sized for propane; these orifices are much smaller than those for natural gas and I had to drill them out to achieve the approximately equivalent BTU rating for natural gas as stock natural gas orifices were not available for any source I could find. Drilling all 5 orifices required getting consulting a chart to determine the right size drill bits but only took 15 minutes.) A couple of issues we have found: there is some coupling between the air supply for the top burners and the oven, which has a very tight seal; we have found that closing the oven door abruptly when there are many burners in use can cause the smaller burners to go out. However, the auto-relighting system immediately kicks in and the spark generator will cause them to fire up again. Another issue is that the top burner grates have been designed with a pattern that is very stylish but fails to support smaller saucepans at more than the 4 closest points, so a small saucepan or frying pan has to be centered carefully or it may tip over without the outer 4 points of the grating to support it....See Moredadoes
