yes , these units will heat their own water, but will certainly welcome already warmed up liquid from your heater.

What cycle option are you selecting ???

I've tried Heavy, Auto, and Normal settings and the tabs would not dissolve and dishes are still dirty. Last night I bought some power dishwasher cleaner and it worked ok. There was some powder residue and the dishes were cleaner but seems like the dishes should be cleaner. ???

Next load you run, stop it about half way through by opening the door slowly.

Tell us how much water is in the bottom of the tub and how hot it is.

Call the dealer, it sounds like you got a lemon.

Do you run the hot water at the sink before starting the cycle?

Yes I do run hot water at sink prior to starting dishwasher. Never had to with our old GE dishwasher. I will run the machine again tonight with a few things dirty. When running the hot water I can feel the pipe to the dishwasher getting hot.

I'm pretty sure your dishwasher is not filling with the proper amount of water.

If your installer did not flush the water line before installing the new dishwasher there is a good chance you are getting a slow fill due to debris in the water valve screen.

There is an issue when using tabs in the soap compartment. I have seen that a few times where the door does not open properly and drop the tab into the base of the machine. Service can usually resolve it.

How much water should be in unit when I open 1/2 way through? If installer didn't flush water line, is this easy to do with dishwasher installed? Or does unit have to be removed to flush line? Had a very difficult install due to floor 3/4" too high in front of unit and had to pull cabinet apart on side of unit.

If I remember correctly on that dishwasher the water should be over the filter and up to the bottom edge of the round filter handle. I think this is about 1/2 to 3/4 in above the flat filter.

The d/w has a timed fill and if the water flow is restricted it will not let enough water in. If there is not enough water the tab will not dissolve and there wont be enough water to wash the dishes.

Your issue of dishes not getting clean and the tab not dissolving or powder detergent not dissolving is classic of a d/w not getting a complete fill.

If there is enough room you may be able to remove the toe kick to get to the water hookup.

Agreed , it's starved for water, but could also be the heating element in addition.

Water is hot but not real full. Just to the filter.

Have you checked to see if the installer turned the water valve on all way? Maybe he just had it slightly open to start with checking for leaks and forgot to open fully. Do you have low water pressure at other areas in your home?

Pretty sure the water valve is on all the way. Attached is the picture of the dishwasher half way through a cycle. I put a tbl. spoon of powder and that didn't even dissolve all the way. I guess since the d/w is under the Bosch warranty I will call an appliance company in my area to come out and check things out. Very frustrating!

What's your water quality like? Hard, neutral ?

Definitely needs more water in the pan. Tech needed unless they'll walk you through it on the phone , which I doubt they will.

There is definitely not enough water coming in. There's not even enough water to make it to the float switch. (the round thing in the photo behind your spray arm )

If your water valve is fully open, you most likely have a pinched water line or because the installer did not flush the water line before hooking it up to the new d/w you now have a clogged water valve screen..

This is an installer issue and they should take care of it for you. Most manufacturers will not cover by warranty an installation issue.

You need a testing kit or call your municipal water supplier, they can tell you.

Something like that would do the trick. Home depot may carry it as well.

You can also go to morton salt site they will send you a free test strip...but its faster to call your water supplier, just tell them you want to know how many grains of hardness per gallon you have.

Handyman came back out and replaced the shutoff valve to the new dishwasher. The old shutoff valve was all corroded and
fill with calcium and no water was able to pass through. All
is good and the tablets are dissolving
and dishes are getting clean!!!! We probably do have hard water but the
previous shutoff valve had been on the old dishwasher for 16 years.

If your installer would have tried to flush the waterline before the install they would have noticed the slow water flow and saved you all the headaches.
