Well...I'm looking at it and I agree with kathleen and jaybird...Then again, I see it being used for a different purpose altogether. (depending on large it is) Do you have a front entry hall table? I think it would look really nice in that type of setting and could be left out all the time. In my old house, I had a long hall table with a lamp, by the front door. I put a large, decorative crystal bowl on it, that I would drop my keys in. Also, just another thought, I don't know what type of bathroom you have...but it would look nice on a bathroom vanity (if it's large enough) to display, either empty or with some small soaps. Or, you can go the traditional route and use it as kathleen and jaybird suggested. Either/ or...It's a beautiful piece. I would love to see how you do use it. jane

I have a lot of things in my LR that I love. But I haven't quite mastered pulling them all together to make it flow. I've got an early 1900's Hooiser Cabinet that came from my great-grandmother's farm. I've got an old paint/wallpaper sign that my parents had at their flower shop and interior decorating store. My RED chaise chair. My native stone fireplace. Like I said, I've not perfected the "look" in my space yet. Hopefully one of these days.

So I would absolutely keep the rug. I would do a cooler color on the wall like a gray green or gray blue. Get a runner to go between the doors that coordinates with your existing rug. I would add real baseboards but if you can’t just paint a 4” wide white band above what you have to fake it. Add a narrow console table with an open decorative front to hide the air conditioner. Paint the door to the house charcoal gray. I found these curtain panels that to me could mimic artwork to hide the vertical blinds. Then add a seating are there. Keep the bench and mirror as is. I don’t have photoshop so excuse my poor mockups lol.

Do you enter through the front door or through the garage? To me, that would dictate how the space should function. I enter through the front, so I would at least need a catch all for keys, sunglasses and a space for my purse. If this going to be primarily used for guests, then I guess I would just put some pretty things here. There's no color in any of your photos. Maybe do a bold wall or art piece that really says something.
