That is a very pretty piece..It looks like a gravy warmer or something like that, place for the candle underneath

I can see that as a beautiful centerpiece, with fresh flowers..or for Easter flowers and jelly beans on the bottom..
But def use it, very lovely!

Ooohhhh that's pretty! Kathleen is right on the money...and I wonder if you could use something like they use on the top of the stacking plates, a sundae dish or whatever they call it. Put it in the center of the bigger bowl with flowers in it, other flowers/greenery around it in the big bowl, and candies in the bottom. Or in the center of the big bowl, you could upend a small glass dish to use as a riser for a figurine of some sort. The glass dish will keep it up out of the water that you would use for flowers in the big bowl. And then maybe a small figuine in the bottom bowl to match, or even the small colored glass pieces that look so pretty in a glass vase.
Personally, I would leave it empty and just admire it! You are very fortunate to have found it all together!

Well...I'm looking at it and I agree with kathleen and jaybird...Then again, I see it being used for a different purpose altogether. (depending on large it is) Do you have a front entry hall table?
I think it would look really nice in that type of setting and could be left out all the time. In my old house, I had a long hall table with a lamp, by the front door. I put a large, decorative crystal bowl on it, that I would drop my keys in. Also, just another thought, I don't know what type of bathroom you have...but it would look nice on a bathroom vanity (if it's large enough) to display, either empty or with some small soaps. Or, you can go the traditional route and use it as kathleen and jaybird suggested. Either/ or...It's a beautiful piece.
I would love to see how you do use it.

Slinkey, I wish I did have an entry table. I live in an older home and the front door opens directly into the living room. I hate that!!! I do have a hall tree that has a marble shelf on it beside the front door. It might work there. The entire piece is 10 1/2" tall and 9 1/2" wide, so it's a good size.

Ok, I started playing around with it. I don't have any fresh flowers, so I pulled out some silk ones that I had. Keep in mind that I am SO NOT a flower arranger.

I put my sundae cup in the large bowl and added hydrangea, roses and hibiscus flowers to it. Then I put more in the large bowl. Three candles went in the small bowl. I wish I had some type of ivy or greenery to put in the large bowl so it would sort of trail down.

I like it..however..just a suggestion... try removing the small candles and the cloth under it, and maybe if you want to use flowers..a simpler arrangment. The piece is so lovely by itself, that you don't want to over do it, (less is more)...and you don't want everything competing with it. By the way, that hall tree is beautiful. I also see your leaded glass door.. which looks lovely too.
