It was funny to see this thread come back, it reminded me I should post some pictures of where I am at and how things are looking. Table is in the spot you all helped me with. I have added an area rug for the sofa, and pillows. I am having a large walnut burl coffee table being made, should be done in about a month. The current coffee table we have is just too small with the size of the sofa. I have a new fan for the ceiling which has a light in it, just waiting for the electrician to install. I plan on replacing the two dark brown leather chairs at the table with something lighter, maybe a beige or off white. Not sure yet but I feel the dark brown chairs are too dark. I got side tables for the sofa which match the live edge table. One of you said Rome wasn’t built in a day, so true. It’s been a fun project. Thanks once again for all your help!

You've got some nice wood pieces. Did your father make most all of them? Regarding the paint color. I always feel paint color should be decided once everything is selected. I'm guessing that the Builder has a couple of paint selections that were chosen to go with the finishes that are being offered so if I were you at this point I would make notes as you are doing but wait to see what you select for the other finishes and then see if the Builder's paint colors will work for you. If none of them do, at that point you can determine if you are going to "up-grade" (he may not even offer the opportunity for you to stray from the color choices) or just paint the walls a non-descriptive color and have them painted later with your own painter. When is your meeting at the Design Center?

If you are going for color I agree with the one on the left from Beth. However, I still think the black and white is a good option with each one taking you in a different direction. When I look at the photos from further back, I see lots of texture in the pillows on the leather sofa and it seems the natural vibe in the living room currently is complemented better with the black and white. With this direction the nod to the stained glass could perhaps be introduced with some amber and teal accessories but maybe not the pink. If it was me I would complete the vignette with the black and white, the plant arrangement, etc. and live with it for a while. Hope this makes sense and helps.

The store with the antiquey windsor chair is closed until Tues., so we’ll have to wait a few days for that report. BUT we found a really good contender that we both liked a lot. It was not on the store‘s web site so I hadn’t seen it before. It’s upholstered but not bulky, has walnut legs, and has a nice curved back. Comes in several fabrics and I found 3 that I liked a lot including a dark gray velvet. This gray is a bit darker IRL. Like a charcoal. This blue matches our LR sofa, I think. Maybe too matchy. I liked this black/white tweed-ish. Still going to see the Windsor chair, next week.
