Wall decor around tv centered on wall
Comments (1)I'm having the same issue. Right now I put 3 plants on the right in a corner, one on a high plant stand and the other two on a small table. A candle holder is yet to be put up on the other side. The TV is on the wall though, all electronics are in a closet behind. I do have a sofa table under it with pillows on it's shelf. Am consdering a bench for extra seating out of the way, but can be moved. Had wanted bookcases too, but the room has enough furniture and big fireplace. Filling up the bookcases felt like too much for my area. Post pic if you can. You will get a bunch more responses....See MoreTV Wall starting from blank
Comments (20)Interesting, I am grappling with similar question. I have a TV mounted (which I definitely prefer--looks more custom and finished in my opinion). We have a cabinet underneath that is only the width of the TV. Next to that, on either side, I have little ottomans (stools). It just looks too bare. I am thinking of either getting a longer cabinet so I can add lamps on it or putting big framed photos on either side. I will say, my wall is way smaller than yours. I think you might want to consider a larger cabinet or two chairs on either side of the one you are getting. As I indicated, I really like the look of a mounted TV better, but if you have the option of doing it later, you could wait and live with it for a while. How tall are your ceilings? If they are 9 feet, you will have a lot of space above the TV too. I think it will look empty, but you can move in and find out. I look forward to seeing what you do. I kind of bought a cheap, small cabinet just to get something. Now I regret it since it doesn't look finished and it is harder for me to convince my family we need something different....See MoreHuge Blank TV Wall Needs Help!
Comments (9)You could start off with doing some wall paneling, maybe barnwood? Providing you with the natural character of wood without getting into something large, such as an entertainment center. The variation of barnwood alone will give you some nice variation. Just enough to go behind and around the TV. Then perhaps some sconzes on the sides? The picture I have attached is an example in our showroom....See MoreBlank space around/under wall mounted TV
Comments (4)Well, when you hang those photos keep in mind these guidelines: Hang single artwork at eye level, and 57-60 inches from center to the floor. If you're hanging your art above furniture, it can be 4-6 inches above the piece. If the art is going above a sofa or console, the piece should be approximately 2/3 width of the furniture. And if you buy rugs: If you’ve got a room-sized area rug, leave at least two feet of bare floor around it in a large room and at least 12 inches in a smaller room, so it doesn’t look like you ran out of carpet. For a smaller area rug, make sure it’s large enough to allow at least the front two legs of your furniture to rest on it, but not so large that there’s more than two feet of empty rug beyond the furniture. In the living room: Keep sofas and chairs 14-18 inches from tables, and at least 2.5 feet no more than about 8 feet apart. Don't line the walls with seating unless you have a tiny room. If you avoid skimpy curtains, too high wall decor, too small rugs, and furniture that is too far apart you will be way ahead of the other bachelor padders!...See Moredecoenthusiaste
