Long & narrow living room, need furniture placement help please

Hello, I have an open concept house with an awkward living room. It is long and very narrow, has a fireplace on one end and a sliding glass door in the middle. I’ll attach a blueprint design I sketched up of it.
I am having the hardest time figuring out how to lay out my furniture. I have the TV (I know, I need a smaller one) above the fireplace (and would like it to stay there. Fireplace doesn’t get used so heat isn’t an issue). I currently have a 3 seat couch (that will eventually be replaced once I figure out what will work. I would like to have more seating so either a bigger couch or some chairs but not sure which one and how to lay it out. I attached some ideas.
The length of the room is about 18ft and with width is about 9ft.

I thought I should add, while I would like to add more sitting room, I really don’t have people over that often so a nice pull out couch to sleep on during movie night would work too. I’m not looking to make my house “magazine approved”, it’s more of a chill hang out spot for me and my fam and sometimes friends lol and yes, I know my TV is way too big 😂 and don’t mind the mess. We just had our drywall patched and painted and we are in the process of refacing our fireplace.

Basically just picture this space with nothing in it cause nothing in it right now has to stay.

Hi. Lots of potential here.

Yes, tv is too large and it needs to be hung without it angled. Otherwise, it just will feel odd and looming. You can buy a tv arm the sits straight and articulates down when you use it.

Another idea: since you don't use your fireplace, why not consider eliminating it and bricking it in?

I like the idea of the seating behind the sofa. But, I would eliminate the credenza. It is too crowded.

Instead, move the sofa back, so that it does not sit in front of the door.

Add a chair where the swingasan is.

I would not buy a sectional or a sofa any larger. I guess you are talking about a sleeper sofa? I guess if that works for you, that would be fine.

It's gigantic. I'd be trying like hell to avoid that. I'd use the dining table in the dining room for a combo desk /office. I'd buy more flexibility.......comfortable flexibility. A tv can mount flat to the wall, With an IR repaeater, it needs no console beneath. The cable box can go anywhere. I'd get a nice deep and comfy 84 inch sofa, put a console with lamps behind. Add two super comfy chairs and ottomans. A nice generous, light and open cocktail table. Lie down! watch the tube! Put your feet up! Add a little ottoman for a perch at the cocktail table. People love to sit and reach a snack. Add a low table between the chairs at the fire......open and light. Ten x 14 rug to ground everything. ( dotted line ) Go set yourself up in the dining room, to work, and just clean up when you have guests !! No matter the sprawl, no more than three folks will ever sit on that beast of a sectional : ) Two chairs and a total of three ottoman plus at least two on a sofa............for gatherings gives you seven seats. A smashing piece of art over the fire too.

Hmmm. It looks to me like you are planning to buy two lounge chairs and put a round table between them. Instead, I would buy 2 swivel chairs, and eliminate putting a round table between them so you can easily swivel the chairs all the way around to face the windows. In each window I would put a chaise lounge that has bench storage. I'd put the two chaise lounges facing each other. The idea here is that the kids can sit in the lounges and read by the windows of they like, and have conversations with whoever is sitting in the swivel chairs. here's my idea for an affordable stain resistant swivel chair Here's some storage chaises at the opposite end of the room I'd build one long activity table, wall to wall, something very simple. I'd add chairs for the kids so they could sit and draw, or do puzzles. I'd put shelves and cubbies nearby for them to put their stuff away. trellis curtains maybe this rug

Furniture placement help - narrow living room w/ multiple French doors

The couch in the last picture is too large for the room. Which way do the French doors swing? Will you be opening/closing them? Try the other couch facing the FP (put it just past the window bank) with a chair on each side of the FP. OR put it on the window wall with a chair to the right of the FP and the other chair to the right of the French door opposite the windows. Please post a picture of the actual room.

Another voite to remove the fireplace and hearth. Will you keep a desk area? If so, I would move it to the wall left of sliding doors, put the sofa table on the wall where the desk is now and the sofa against it. A lamp or two on the sofa table. Sleeper sofas are super heavy and sometimes not that comfortable to sit or sleep on. For comfort, a left hand chaise would be nice for TV viewing. With the FP gone, the TV could go to the left a bit and could sit on a small media cabinet. Rig sized correctly and a small round coffee table.

ETA: After looking at photos again, I see that is NOT a desk area. If FP is removed, you could use that chest on the "new" wall with the new/smaller TV on top or hung above.
