I like herbflavor's idea of the bluey white (I guess teal-y white if there is yellow in the formula?), although I have other blue things like curtains, textiles and plates that might add balance... I was thinking I would do a monochromatic yellow/caramel/white palette with the main elements. But when I cover up the walls with my hand and imagine the blue-y white, it looks really nice... Yes, I have a stainless fridge and stove. I have the BM paint deck. Is there a way to tell from the paint chips what colours are in the formula?

Like the pergola over the garage door idea. If built to be sturdy enough to walk on it, then it could serve as a fire escape route should the need ever arise -- certainly hope it never does. You might also consider painting your step rails and side supports the same color as your siding unless you're planning to have a wood finish door and/or a rustic porch and post addition over the entry at a later date, in which case you'd want those additions to have the same wood finish. When I saw the kitchen, I had an immediate different thought than I see here. Is that formica? If so, I would replace it with new formica in a different color... This is not a major job, evidently. It comes with the backsplash and everything. You just order the length you need. Grey (as in one of the photos upthread)? Navy? Black? With the teal blue chairs, one or more of these colors on a countertop would be striking.

Thanks all! Especially for pics, was having trouble find ones that had both trim and drapes with black sashes that I liked but those made me feel better about both. These windows have removable grids that we found in attic when we bought home, so we’ll just paint them black and snap them back on and voila!
