wall colour clashes with floor - what colour should I paint it?

Hey!

My floor just went in yesterday, and as I feared, it clashes quite a bit with the wall colour. (It's more clashy in person. It is quite a greenish yellow. The floor is a warmish yellow.)

Here's a pic:

I'm wondering what to do.

I could:

1. leave it. I'm a bit tired of the kitchen process.

2. paint it white. How about BM cloud white? The trim will be painted BM Simply White to match the cabinetry. ... Or maybe BM White Chocolate (going from memory on the name), which has a bit of a yellow undertone?

Things to consider:

- Kitchen has one north-facing window., It is therefore lit up by warmish-toned halogen lights most of the day.

Would you want to take the flooring and try to color match it?(This coming from someone who loves beige)
Although I think white can be the answer sometimes, in this case, I think your kitchen will look unfinished.
Or, is there another color that you can go with that is different entirely?
Your kitchen looks great so far. If you are unhappy, don't leave it. You will not want to repaint once all the mess is cleared. Better to do it now.

all I see is white and caramel in your space.Do you have stainless in the space as well? Get a white with blueish undertones to balance it out[a blue that is on the warmer end of the blues-it will have yellow in its formula]. Too bad the green undertone of the wall isn't along the teal or blue family instead-it would've worked.

The home has a great look. But before you look to remodel you need to look to the furnishings you will put into it. Many people buy a house, paint the walls redo the floors, change the kitchen, etc., then look to purchase furnishings. So think about that first. What do you have now that you will keep for the long term. And what do you plan to purchase new. Have a clear plan as to what these items are, keeping in mind colors, style, and patterns. Then look at floor color, rugs, lighting fixtures and furniture. The wrong order will ultimately make you frustrated.

You've got some nice wood pieces. Did your father make most all of them? Regarding the paint color. I always feel paint color should be decided once everything is selected. I'm guessing that the Builder has a couple of paint selections that were chosen to go with the finishes that are being offered so if I were you at this point I would make notes as you are doing but wait to see what you select for the other finishes and then see if the Builder's paint colors will work for you. If none of them do, at that point you can determine if you are going to "up-grade" (he may not even offer the opportunity for you to stray from the color choices) or just paint the walls a non-descriptive color and have them painted later with your own painter. I think BM Cloud White and Simply White are much too similar to use as wall and trim colors together. SW is slightly brighter and less warm, but not that much. I'm not seeing the green in your floor on my monitor, so I'll leave the wall paint suggestions alone.

Hi Linelle, it's the wall colour that's got a green undertone to it.

I like herbflavor's idea of the bluey white (I guess teal-y white if there is yellow in the formula?), although I have other blue things like curtains, textiles and plates that might add balance... I was thinking I would do a monochromatic yellow/caramel/white palette with the main elements. But when I cover up the walls with my hand and imagine the blue-y white, it looks really nice...

Yes, I have a stainless fridge and stove.

I have the BM paint deck. Is there a way to tell from the paint chips what colours are in the formula?
