What color should we paint an adjoining bedroom to coordinate?

We are painting two adjoining bedrooms and a bathroom and trying to coodinate . we decided on Benjamin Moore Saybrook Sage for the South-facing room with a skylight; the other room and bath has no natural light, although there is a strong ceiling light (with a dimmer). should we paint it the same color? if not, what might work?

Saybrook Sage is pretty dark. Have you painted the other room already and like the end result? One option is to have the tint cut in half for the room with no natural light. Guaranteed to go with the other room and wouldn't be as dark. BM's website recommends Tapestry Beige as a complement to SS. I have sampled that in the past and it is a nice color, somewhat similar to Edgecomb Gray, but with more noticeable green. They also recommend Paper White as a complement. I wouldn't suggest it for you as it is an off white with a noticeable blue-gray undertone. I used it in a room with a western exposure. It wouldn't be a color I would choose for a room with no natural light. I would actually choose a warm white if it were me. White Dove, Cotton Balls or Crisp Linen. Moonlight White and Vanilla Milkshake have a green undertone if you want to nod to green but use a lighter color than SS half tint. There are many others that would work. Just a little brighter than what you currently have. I can't comment on what would look good in the bathroom without seeing it.

that is an especially dark color for a north bedroom, 5 shades lighter will still give you the color you love.

Angelantix, what did you end up going with in your bedroom/bath? I am in the same predicament now and have looked at all your colors. I'm thinking of weekend getaway for the bedroom and looking for a bathroom color, would love to do beach glass but not sure it will coordinate. Now I'm thinking I should do a neutral in the bedroom and a blue or green in the bathroom. Would love to know how it turned out and if anyone has suggestions for a neutral bedroom color. Our trim is cream and my bedding has I guess like a rust'ish color with green and teal and a little gold in it. thanks in advance, any advice would be helpful! Karen

I posted this for you under the DIY Master Bath post, but just in case you didn't see it. sonaliagrawal, my DH just removed an 85" unframed mirror from my boys bathroom. He used two sets of Gordon brand Heavy Duty Suction Cups from Harbor Freight. DH says they were less than $10 a piece. They're designed with a hand grip and a suction cup on either side. They tighten down to the mirror with clips. Without much force, the mirror pulled from the wall and left behind 8-10 blobs of black mastic on the drywall. You then carry the mirror away holding the hand grips, so it helps to have a set regardless of the size of your mirror, so you can balance the weight of the mirror with both arms. I couldn't have removed a mirror this large - it definitely took the strength of a man to carry it away. I used a metal scraper to get off the mastic blobs that would be visible if I remodel with two framed mirrors. They came off but took the top layer of paper from the drywall. Any blobs that will be hidden behind the new mirrors are being left as is. I spackled the torn drywall spots today, but haven't sanded them yet. If there's a better way to get off the mastic, I'd love to hear it. Hope I helped.

Fair point: it's more of a dressing room than a closet (though to be fair, my closet in our last house was bigger than this room :-p). I'd prefer it not to be plain white, because it is an actual room, not a closet. okmoreh you nailed it, in that we are using the area as a master suite (no other humans in the house). So it feels like they should coordinate, and I don't mind using the same color. The dressers will be the only furniture, with the possible exception of a chair or ottoman, if space permits. I've got a comfy chair-and-a-half in storage and Mr. Weedy has a recliner, and I'd love to use one of them, but I suspect that either will be too large for the room. But we do need somewhere to sit while dressing, so we may end up with an ottoman in the center or something.

Thank you! see my correcrion: the first room iis south-facing my daught uses it when she is here and picked the color i like the idea of lightening it for the other room i will look at the other colors ther is a third room in the suite rhat has wood paneling along the bottom half of the walland some light; we are using linen white for that
