People who are late with no good reason.

Buying a watermelon and finding it is grainy or not sweet.

Posts in political discussions where all the person does is post some stupid facebook meme in an effort to inflame hostility rather than share perspectives.

How easy it is to gain weight and how hard it is to lose it.

Whatever their perspective, people who have not had the common decency to mask and distance when near others this past year when requested to do so.

I annoy myself pretty easily.

Because I do so much driving I think it's the idiotic practice of leaving several car lengths in front of them when people are stopped for a light or in traffic. That allows only a few people to make the light and also prevents people from being able to enter adjoining lanes to make their turns, exits etc. It's rude, thoughtless and entitled behavior. Also the people who insist on being road boulders in the #1 lane. Power hungry losers who ride your blind spot intentionally when they know you are attempting a safe lane change. The list goes on. So its ignorant, bad drivers in general who annoy me.

Any of the following characteristics some people have, personal attributes and personality characteristics. Some have these in combination, all the worse:

Being inconsiderate

Being self-absorbed and self-righteous

Lack of self confidence and so defensive or unable to diplomatically stand up for oneself

Unable to reassess and redirect when warranted, clinging to views or beliefs that are challenged that appear to be unfounded. Being closed-minded about new or different ideas and thoughts.

Lack of integrity, lack of honesty

Lacking a reasonable amount of personal discipline

Lacking an ability to prioritize how time and effort should be spent

Lacking empathy for others

Otherwise, nothing bothers me! ;-)

The hypocrisy in politics is beyond annoying to me.

This started years ago when there suddenly was a rash of carjackings of cars stopped in traffic. (Keep your doors locked, folks!) The rationale behind it was to leave enough space in front of you to be able to pull away from anyone trying to get into your car. Yeah, well, if your doors are locked, it makes it much harder for anyone to suddenly get in your vehicle. And if you are stopped at a light, where do you think you can go when you try to pull away from someone who is trying to get in your car? Into the next lane of traffic? Up onto the curb? If you have mere inches in front of you, no one can get away with carjacking your car.

Condescending speech. Wordiness. Mansplaining. Please be succinct. I lose patience when someone has already made their point and feels the need to explain it to me several times over using increasingly simple language with each repetition.

People who think they are a good person when in reality it is the opposite.

In the winter drivers in this area tend to leave extra space between their car and the one in front of them. The water vapor from tailpipes at intersections can and does form a layer of ice. Add additional water vapor on top of that ice and traction can suddenly disappear. If you have space and see that the driver in front of you is having problems it is less likely you will slam into their rear end.

Exactly, maifleur - I was taught to always allow sufficient space between my car and other vehicles both when moving and when stopped. I have been rear ended at a light before too, when the person behind us hit the gas before anyone started moving. That space kept us from being rammed into the car in front of us.

Some folks seem to overdo it tho, I will admit.

This just made me think another annoyance: failure of the imagination.

Dull kitchen knives. Actually, any tool that needs a sharp edge to function properly and has been allowed to go dull annoys me.

I have a person in my life who is such a pain about food. So concerned with portions, calories, spice level, cost (if we're eating out). Always asking if anyone wants to split an entree. Always fussing about "too much food, I can't eat all this". Always trying to foist leftovers on guests "no one can eat this much so you've got to take some home." Well, good thing is I've learned to say "No." Not "no thank you", just a firm "No."

People who are always late, Rude and crabby people, Loud and obnoxious people and those that "think" they know everything because they read it "somewhere"

There's a big difference between being able to see concrete behind the tires of the vehicle in front of you and leaving the massive 50 ft gap as the others above have mentioned.

What annoys me - those that just blindly follow and parrot the "experts" advice, use your brain and research for yourself.

Isn't it better to follow the advice of experts than to listen to people who don't have a clue about what they're talking about? Too many fools believe people because of who they are and give little thought to what those people may or may not actually know.

General rudeness. Like when my coworkers think its okay to drink my drinks or eat my food because it "looked good." And then do not even mention it, so I come to work thinking that I have something to eat and drink so I do not bring anything else and I've got nothing. Or when they use up all the stuff I bring for everyone, but no one else contributes, like paper plates or plastic cutlery. Or my pretty scented hand soap. And the only acknowledgement I get for that is when one of them mentions that "we are low on soap btw." The other night minion called me once to tell me he did NOT like the flavor of drinks I had and asked me why did I buy those, they are nasty. Yeah, he got cussed up, down out, in, and back around that night. Then he complained to my boss about my "attitude." (my boss, of course, told him to stop being an idiot) It is like they are COMPLETLY and UTTERLY clueless. Who does that kind of stuff? You know you did not buy it, so why do you think it is okay to consume it, let alone complain about it? Unreal. So I guess you can say my coworkers annoy me.

Also, know it alls in general do not bother me, as long as they actually know something. The 400 pound person giving me weight loss or health tips annoys me. The 3 time divorcee giving marriage advice annoys me. The childless person giving parenting advice annoys me. The dog owner whose dog is jumping all over me, pulling its leash and nipping giving dog training tips annoys me.

And one of the most irritating things in the world to me anyway is people who try to convince me that my own personal tastes are wrong. "No, you really do like seafood and duck and deer, you just haven't had it COOKED the right way. If I made it for you your whole outlook on life and food will change to match mine, therefore for the better" UGH. "No, you should drink alcohol even though you think it tastes like nail polish remover, if I make you a drink you wont even know its in there. Oh, you don't like the taste OR the effects of alcohol. Lighten up." "What do you MEAN you find baseball boring?!?!? Here, let me explain every detail so that you can see how fascinating it is." I also get annoyed when I am at work cooking or eating and I get unsolicited tips on the food. I really am not trying to be rude, But I do not care how you like your steak cooked. I do not care that you think mine is overcooked. Its how I like it. No one asked you or offered you any, so why should I care? I was eating a SALAD yesterday. A SALAD and got so many comments on it I wanted to chuck it at people! "Why are you eating that, you on a diet or something? What kind of cheese is that? EW. What kind of dressing is that? Did you make it yourself? Its easy to make your own dressing you know...Where are the croutons? What are those red things? I cant eat a salad unless it has bacon and eggs and cheese and fried chicken and a donut and oreos on it." I DO NOT CARE!!!!! LEAVE ME AND MY SALAD ALONE!!!!!! SO had to learn the hard way to not comment on my food. You eat what you want. I will even cook yours for you exactly the way you want it. But let me eat mine the way I want please. He still slips up. I had scrambled eggs this morning. That's it. No cheese, no meat, just scrambled eggs. Its what I wanted. He cant handle that for some reason. He would never eat just eggs and cannot help but to say something when I do. IT. IS. ANNOYING.

Lately, anything and everything. So not enough room to type all of it. :)

Several things already mentioned....but also repetitive noises. Like barking dogs. Loud noises....like fireworks. Sometimes people in general. Charles Bukowski said, "I don't dislike people. I just feel better when they are not around.". That. Especially lately since I have a desire to be alone, and well meaning people think under the circumstances, I shouldn't be.

People who are habitually late are a big annoyance for me, as are people who lie. I've gone to great lengths to eliminate them from my life. I also am annoyed by judgmental people who have no basis for their opinions about others. And on the lighter side of life, Yahoos who set off fireworks in the summer at our bay beach into the wee hours - I am not on your frigging vacation and would like to sleep...

Speaking of driving... I get annoyed by other drivers who give me the little wave to go when I do not have the right of way. Like they are directing traffic and doing you a little favor. It's a small town, there is never more than 2 or 3 cars waiting. AND do not direct me out of my parking space, I HAVE done this before. For decades, actually.

Perfume and the people who wear it. Just because they like those smells, they think they should force the stench on everyone around them. Especially in restaurants, where it interferes with the taste of the food. Or the theater, where it ruins the show for people around them. It's expensive? So what! Cheap or pricey, they all give me a migraine.

The News, the sound of chainsaws and motorcycles, people that drive 60 on our 25 mph street, jacked up prices on everything these days, litter all over the place nowadays....I could keep on and on...

It sounds like most people are already sufficiently annoyed.

One thing that annoys me is people who act like "know it alls." This is okay if someone is actually an expert giving professional advice, but it is not okay if someone acts as if they know more than they really do.

Any kind of screaming annoys me to no end, from children at play to contestants on America's Got Talent (is that still on?). It very much disturbs me to hear screaming female vocalists at the (lower end) grocery stores through the sound system. How much nicer if there were just silence. High pitched voices bother me the most, which is one of the reason that I no longer go to the opera. I'm willing to pay more for groceries if I do not have to listen to screeching music.

Fortunately, in Cathedral City, I can go to Cárdenas Market and listen to festive Mexican mariachi music, which always puts me in a good mood. Plus they always have festive decorations. Normally, I see people dancing in the aisles and singing along to the music, although not so much in the past year. I hope the festiveness will return soon, as it always makes me smile. I really hate listening to AGT style music at some of the other stores.

DH working from home the past several years, and not traveling to see his clients this past year.

Gotta agree about the perfume, more than an annoyance it's a health hazard. Why would anyone use something that they know is going to cause illness in others I don't know, many people get migraines and days of feeling awful from it. Plus it contains health damaging chemicals such so it does effect the person wearing it even it they won't admit it.

No matter how much you paid for it - it stinks! Perfume is no longer made of natural products that why it smell like chemical sewer.

When I was at work they would talk about the bible in the lunch room. I finally said one day, "I'm at work, not church and don't believe in all that babble. Can you save it for church?" I hate when people assume everyone is religious. I do ask questions about religion, but seriously........ don't tell me if it wasn't for the bible you might be in jail. The bible doesn't stop you from committing a crime: morals and ethics do. That line was actually the last straw and I had to finally speak up. They all stopped talking religion when I was in the room.

Also: People who talk on their cell phones in the lunch room the whole time you're trying to relax in your down time. Why can't people go 8 hours without talking to someone on their phone. If my phone has 2 hours of phone time on it (I've had it 18 months), it's a lot. I rarely use my phone as a phone and never use it when there's people around, especially in a lunch room.

As for perfume: I'll wear it because I like it. If you don't like it or are allergic to it oh well.

and before anyone says anything, I can't handle the smell of MANY perfumes. I get nauseous from certain ones, I just avoid them. BUT: I don't bathe in perfume either. So I'll wear it. I find I smell clean clothes more. The soap and fabric softener and now those smelly beads add so much fragrance to cloth, it's more powerful than perfume.

I get severe migraines from perfume, often so bad the pain makes me throw up. My friend, who is in chemo, is also sickened by perfume. So go ahead and wear it because you like it. And if someone vomits on you, oh well.

@jupidupi My sister gets blinding migraines from certain patterns on material and from flashing lights, especially those you see on bicycles: should we outlaw certain patterns on cloth and flashing lights for her?

If you don't want to see something, you can look away. If you don't want to taste something, you don't have to put it in your mouth. If you hate the way something feels, you can choose not to touch it. But hearing and smell are the two senses we can't just choose to avoid. Common courtesy to our fellow humans means don't scream in their ear and don't force smells on them.

@jupidupi: it's kinda hard to look away when you see a cyclist at night with flashing lights on the bike while you're driving a vehicle in traffic LOL She can look away but the cars around her won't like it too much. And for her: even 2 seconds of seeing that light (most school buses have them on top as well) is enough for her sight to go completely away for up to 1/2 an hour. Explain to me now: how does she look away while driving?

Ooo I forgot some. People who make obnoxious and gross sounds when eating and drinking. Stop smacking like a cow, gulping like a fish and moaning. Just stop. I am convinced people do all of that on purpose either for attention or to irritate people for fun. And stop doing that lip licking thing, after every bite like they are trying to get the last bit of flavor from the air around their mouths. Quit it!

Amy, the moaning.....that reminded me of something that really got on my nerves. When we moved here, a year ago in August, Jody's health was so bad, he couldn't do much in the way to help, so he hired his deckhand to help me. Every time he picked up a box, or helped me pick up something that was too heavy to pick up by myself, he groaned very loudly. It really got on my nerves. I finally told him to shut the **** up. "Women have babies and make less noise than that!"

Debby, I would really hate to wish something bad on anyone, but ... if you had suffer for five minutes what my niece suffers when she is exposed to strong perfume, I guarantee it would change your flippant attitude. She has a headache so severe that it puts her in bed for days in a darkened room with her eyes closed because she can't bear the light, along with severe nausea and vomiting. My nephew is at this moment receiving chemo and radiation treatment for his cancer. He is very weak and sick, and you want to come along with your perfumed self and make it worse ? What a heartless, uncaring person you are.

Well, obviously heartless, uncaring people, for one.

Know-it-alls who think they're experts on everything and anyone who disagrees with them is stupid, ignorant, uneducated and/or a fool.

People who think they're smarter and better than others. Particularly annoying are those who went to college, and treat those who didn't as if they're dumb for not having a degree.

My body. I went from being someone who was always active and was able to do anything and go anywhere I wanted, to someone who is barely able to walk, and it happened in less than five years.

Also when people constantly lick their lips while talking. So annoying. I agree about the continued moaning while eating thing, it's creepy.

I'm annoyed by the amount of people who won't wear masks in my county. They recently lifted the mask mandate, and we have the highest rate of covid infection and the lowest rate of vaccination in the entire state, and I hardly see anyone masked anymore. Coincidence? I think not.

I walked into a coffee shop on Sunday and looked around. None of the customers were wearing one (which I don't expect when eating and drinking) but the cashier wasn't, and the people preparing the drinks and the food also weren't wearing masks. I immediately left. I will not be giving my hard-earned money to people so selfish.

I'm moving soon to an area where people and businesses take covid more seriously and don't mind being mildly inconvenienced for the public good.
