Eden climber in bloom
Comments (24)This response comes a bit late, but if you are still wondering, the dark red rose behind Eden is Braveheart--one of my favorites. A Clements rose, if I remember correctly. It has Austin's Dark Lady somewhere back in its ancestry. Here is a picture of it--if you squint, you can see Eden upper center, slightly to the right in the pic. In real life, it stands out much better. Took me forever to learn to take a pic that didn't bleed a lot of red. Here was my first nice close-up. Kate...See MoreEden Climber - A true beauty
Comments (22)Here is my Eden, which I got from RU about 6-7 years ago, growing around a pillar--the biggest one I could find, but it is barely big enough. But then I had to trim Eden back last year in order to replace the crumbling pillar. The spring bloom that followed looked pretty good--but since then it has been sulking--I'm not sure it liked that pruning. Not that it ever had great re-bloom, but certainly better than this. I hope by next year it fully recovers from the forced pruning because it is one of my favorite blooms also. Closer shot of the beautiful blooms (but a bit dark). Not the most floriferous bloomer in the garden, but you will forgive her whenever she does bloom! Kate...See More2020 Let’s see those C’s

Divided one 4” pot into three plants, each was a full size blooming machine by the end of summer. Also calibrichoa....See MoreColors, flowers and plants, please let’s see them February, 2021
Comments (72)We may have just had two more inches of snow, and three feet on the ground, but it's spring and summer indoors. I haven't named it yet, but this is a baby pomegranate tree, about six weeks old. It's in a 2 1/2 pot, receiving sunlight at the window and artificial light from sunset to bedtime and my wakeup time until the sun strikes it. It's just sprouted from a pomegranate seed from a pomegranate from the grocery store for sheer fun and I have no expectations for it. The Ageratum That Will Not Die. Fed organically (20%) and synthetically, it just keeps blooming more nicely as the winter wears on. A "struggling" tropical hibiscus started in...November, I think? Named "Brandy." That's her individual name, not the cultivar. She was struggling a bit, but has recovered recently with keeping the soil moist (there's some cyanobacteria mats on the soil right now), and feeding a lot more than I normally would in February since she's under lights 18 hours a day....See MoreRaeAnna
