Let’s post Aeonium pictures
Comments (40)Here are a couple more 'now and thens'. This one makes a nice mound. It is not as leggy as many others get. The green is now post rain. The difference is not as dramatic on this large headed variety. In late spring it is more grey and the red is more pronounced. atropurpureum. atro. v. swartzkopf. This one is a little harder for me to root than most. I don't know the name. haworthioides. I like this one in both seasons. Maybe I like the red better because I have other plants that get dark. I need to get this one in the ground to see if it will grow a little stronger....See Morethe taxes are done...let’s start on the dining room!
Comments (70)I owe you all an apology for seeming to disappear, and an update. I returned home from babysitting and my husband got the flu (in spite of having had the shot). He NEVER gets sick (3 times in 45 years?) so I paid attention. He recovered, and then I’ve had it. On the mend. But one of my very best friends (30 years) received a devastating medical diagnosis this past week. I can’t quite manage to gather the oomph to work on finding a different painting for the dining room right now, and that needs to happen before I order the lighting. I’ll be back, and thank you all so much for the help you’ve already given, and that you’ll help again once “life” gets more normal....See MoreP and Q daylilies 2020
Comments (37)Brad: I think the plant you are referring to is Lythrum Salicaria "Morden's Pink". The species Lythrum is invasive in the wetlands, but the hybrid Morden's Pink has never shown any inclination to reseed or spread. Doesn't matter. The plant police have banned it along with the thug species Lythrum in many many states. Throwing the baby out with the bath water imo....... I wish mine would have reseeded a bit in the 30 years I've grown it. I can't find any new plants of Mordern's Pink locally or in mail order. However, I did see it listed for sale at a nursery in Kentucky once. Don't know if the nursery is around you, but it is named "Wallitsch". ............Maryl...See MoreLet’s share a calming photo.
Comments (67)I couldn’t find this thread this morning. I was looking through my pics for an “indigo” shot for Annie’s thread to see if anything fit the bill. When I saw this pic it brought back such happy memories. (Sorry for the long back story) We drove down to my sister’s on Christmas Day 2016. We live in Queens too. Astoria. My sister lives way down in farm country. Cherstertown, MD. I thought this was so cool....See MoreJenn
