Coffee Table/Trunk/Ottoman What Would You Suggest?
Comments (12)Trunks as coffee tables are called toe-smashers in my house. I've gone through three. :-) There's gotta be at least a little bit of room underneath for the toes to go. While storage is a nice idea I also found it a PITA since if I wanted to get something from the trunk I had to clear everything off the surface to open it. I would rather have drawers or even a lower shelf I could put flat baskets on (maybe those tailored leather baskets/deep trays?). I rather like something along the lines of the Map Table from Pottery Barn in a satin black painted finish, if you want to bring some of the black from the bar area over here - it's severe enough to play well with Mission furniture without being matchy-matchy at all: I don't think the ottoman-with-tray-for-"stuff" routine is a good idea for the sports-and-beer crowd. It's just asking for something to get tipped over. As for the glass rings, we have not had problems with tables and nightstands with good quality finishes - although I have my DH trained pretty well, there are a couple of my goonier friends who will set a sweating glass down on a table right next to the coaster. We put our feet up on the coffee table too (barbarians! LOL)... this is why I bought an old table with the top wrapped in old copper sheeting, because the more it gets bashed up the better it looks! ;-) However, if this is expected to be a major, major problem, a tile-topped table is right in line with the Mission flavor of the furniture. This one is quite pricey but it gets the general point across very well:...See MorePlease share photos of your sofa recliners
Comments (9)We have a reclining couch and a reclining loveseat. We do not have a coffeetable for that reason. The back also reclines so you can be practically laying down while watching tv. We have side tables and cup holders in the loveseat that solve the issue of needing a coffeetable. Only the poor sap who is stuck in the middle seat on the couch has a problem, but if we have that many people over, there are probably a few sitting at the dining table (adjacent to living room)....See MoreCoffee table and wall art suggestions with sectional please help me!
Comments (9)It looks like you really like blue. so any of your rugs is fine. but if you want warmth, you will have to bring in a warm color, red, yellow, orange. i like a touch of gold with gray. Finally on the topic of art. i always believe that you should buy art that you love and that you should buy original as much as possible. never buy big box store, you are paying hundreds for glorified posters. if you want posters they have monets for 8-$10. other wise look local or go to etsy or saatchiart, you will find many that will give your monet a run for your money. if you find those prices too high, you can get an artist copy. if still too high, i would go with the new style for a couple dollars or less they will send you an online copy of the artpiece. send that to an online artshop they can make it as big you want. they have these cool ones now where they printed on glass. anyway you are then paying only the artist and the framer. and if you save the email that contains it. that is pretty much the same as a signed print. not totally original but much less chance of you seeing it again....See MoreCan I mix this coffee table with my couch and dining table?
Comments (35)groveraxle, Thanks for the photoshops. That actually has me back to considering the light grey concrete one the most as it seems to match the overall asthetic better than others I am considering. May not be as thin as what I would prefer but the singlular central base feels like a good compromise....See MoreLife Vibes
