Help! Painted walls very light gray but what trim color to complement?
Comments (2)It is near impossible to suggest a color trusting monitors…but I will give you a color to look at with the off-white trim, as that’s a lot of trim to paint white. Try this color on the wall (two coats). I think you need a color with more brown in the mix: B.M. Silver Fox. Silver Fox is a great backdrop for you gray upholstery (which is probably why the now gray walls are fighting with the furniture.)...See MoreWhite or light neutral paint color to complement SW Alabaster?
Comments (4)Thank you! I tried that and also pulled a zillion swatches and still couldn't decide. But we visited the house again today and I think I am going to use Behr silky white as a secondary color. : ) I may have the trim painted too and I'm not sure what to use for that. It's currently Behr Ultra Pure white but I can't decide if I want that much contrast. Debating the different sheens of the same color approach (w/ trim in alabaster). The trim is unremarkable, as you can see....See MorePainting interior to sell and need a good neutral - Gobi Desert or?
Comments (14)It sounds like for the most part the thing to do is just repaint almost everything in a more current neutral. My house would still sell even if I didn't, but (of course) I would like top dollar for my house, and painting a few extra rooms is not that much extra work for me. I dislike gray even though the gray trend is not over yet here, so I will probably choose one of the lighter neutrals. Love the China White, saw some other Benjamin Moore colors and looks like Dove Wing would also be great....See MoreWhat is a good neutral paint color that complements a teal accent wall
Comments (20)@Condo Association Hi, yes I did! I LOVE my teal wall! It is Benjamin Moore Jade Garden juxtaposed against Sherwin Williams Alabaster. I did not follow the advice of these professionals in this chain who told me I should get my decor first before picking a color. I still haven't picked my new bedding but I'm sure it will all look fine when I do. I won't be inviting professional designers into my bedroom to nitpick how the undertones of my bedding and walls match lol. I have gold lamps which look great against the teal and the white juju hat also provides nice contrast. I say go for it!! Color is such a fun and easy statement and I love how you can be bold with it. I repeat, this is super old bedding and I have not replaced it yet because I am focusing on other areas of the house first in terms of decor. Room decor is not complete. I got my new guest bedroom bedding yesterday and put it on my bed just to take a look at it (guest bed mattress and frame have not arrived yet....will iron, don't worry)...See MoreMaureen
