I just painted my bedroom and master bath SW Alabaster with SW High Reflective White trim and doors. I LOVE the look, both colors work beautifully together. Depending on the time of day (morning sun) it looks white without being too stark white, as the day progresses it warms up turning into a vanilla cream in the evenings. My bedroom is west facing with more windows and a small south window. My master bath is west facing. The High Reflective White stays pretty true to color at all times. Unfortunately they were not able to do the cabinets in HRW as the paint I used on the cabinets could not be mixed in that color. HRW is a color that is funny at Sherwin Williams and kinda' tricky and definitely takes more coats to cover. I used Emerald paint in Alabaster on ceilings, walls, and cabinets in different finishes and Super Paint in Semi Gloss in HRW for trim and doors. I was nervous about using Alabaster on the cabinets in the bathroom but it worked perfectly. I will say, for those that are using a white on walls that is not as warm as Alabaster/White Dove, or more cooler grays (think grays that aren't greige) the Alabaster or White Dove warm soft whites are going to go yellow/cream. I would recommend going with Pure White for cabinets and trim. It is still a soft white without the creaminess of Alabaster. High Reflective White is also a good white it's not as soft as Pure White but still not so white that it looks cheap, but again HRW is hard to cover and cannot be mixed in many sheens and paints. I decided not to go with Pure White with my Alabaster walls because my husband wanted more of a contrast with the doors and trim, I wanted to use Alabaster on everything, but made a compromise with my husband, and went with HRW. I am not at all disappointed with the look. I know I spent countless hours agonizing over the choices and hopefully this will help others that are in the same position.

Thank you for your input. Unfortunately, we have to pick the paint color before lighting is in. We are also having to select wall color from out of state making it extra difficult. I am about ready to go back to one of my tried and true - Agreeable Gray or Repose Gray. If I select off white and should use the same color on trim then Alabaster would be the best option, I think Peary white will look off for the doors and trim in other areas of the house.

I have been looking forever for the best white paint for the majority of my house. To include ceilings walls in the kitchen halls living Room dining Room family Room. I got several Ben Moore paints and 2 weeks ago got a sample court of Sherwin Williams alabaster. I love Greek villa also and wanted to see what it looked like at a 125% because it just seems too light to me I wanted something a bit richer with a little bit lower lrv around 80. Tonight I popped into my local Sherwin Williams the same place that made the alabaster and I asked for Greek villa at a 125%. The girl told me the formula and I knew that Greek villa at least I have another gallon of enamel paint Greek villa has black and deep Gold in it. She fed me some mumbo jumbo about it being a different formula. She was also unhappy that I was there at like 10 till 5 because they close at 5 never mind that I leave my house at 8 o'clock to work all day and I hadn't even been home from work yet. I took the paint out to the car and thought this doesn't really look like Greek villa at a 125%. And lo and behold when I got home and put them side-by-side the formulas are exactly the same it's the same kind of paint Sherwin Williams cheap satin court but those paint formulas are exactly the same. Do we think that a mistake was made with the Greek villa 125%. The only way for me to be sure is to go to another Sherwin Williams store tomorrow and inquire about take both cans of paint both courts and show them. I do know this because of the constant screw UPS this is not the 1st time I've had difficulty with Greek villa. I had my whole house painted during an extended stay away and when I get home I don't think they put any color and into the ceiling paint I believe my ceiling paint is high hide extra white ceiling paint with no colorant in it. I will be going with a Benjamin Moore probably dune white or white dove at a 125%. But I want my money back even though it's $7 I deserve my money back for the mistake does anybody know if it's possible that those 2 formulas would be exactly the same I don't think they would be because I know Greek villa has black in it. thanks to the sw color experts on the forums.

I know this is an older post but if this can help you or someone . . . ..Of the three colors mentioned, Oyster White will give you the look you're after and will look good in bright light and in more dull blue light during winter also. It would look good with Iron Ore and with a more black paint from SW such as Black Magic or Tricorn Black. Alabaster on an exterior can look great but it's much brighter than Oyster White. Snowbound, while one of my personal faves, can have some funny pink undertones at times. As always, test test test! Natural lighting and reflections from trees/ water/ other houses will affect a paint's appearance.
