Help with cleaning newly refinished hardwoods that look dull
Comments (3)How often does your housecleaner mop the floors with the bona? if she does it more than once a month shes doing it too much. It could be that your floor guy went with a semi gloss. but glossy floors tend to lose its shiny appeal fast, especially with the regular cleaning, active family, etc... I would have someone come in and buff n coat the floors with a high gloss and then lay off the amount of bona cleaner if more than once a month, and then gauge how long it takes to lose that shiny appeal you like. If you really like that shiny look then it may require more buff n coats to keep that look as opposed to a satin look...See MoreDoes hardwood need to be refinished?
Comments (4)I agree the floors are lovely and look to be in great shape save the refinishing money you would spend and use it somewhere else.Maybe have the paint cut 50% would be better choice IMO the silverplate will be a bit dark when all the walls are painted.I also would want to know more about your furniture before advising about paint colorto be honest. Everything you are bringing into the home will have an effect on color , it is why if possible I never decide color before making other decisions....See MoreShaw solid hardwood - quality issues like their engineered hardwood?

Never saw anything like your photo. Once we refinished in August which concerned our contractor who was worried about high humidity causing the poly to take longer to dry. Recommended we spend the night in a hotel and turning the AC down to 60 degrees to dry it and keep the humidity down. We did that and the floors were beautiful the next day. I think the people you used should redo your floors. Jane...See Morekudzu9
