I agree, the Pearl is too yellow. Still trying to decide between the Antique Parchment and Linen :). I reached a new low as I knocked on doors in the rain, asking if I could hold paint samples up to trim. For better or worse I told the installer we'd use the Teakwood! I felt relieved for about a minute....and then started thinking things like: is it too dark? Is there a PURPLE undertone???? Is the finish too flat? Ha! I might be certifiable! Wish I was someone who didn't care. I might have an ugly house, but I'd be blissfully oblivious :) Well, I guess another option would be having enough money to hire someone like Maria Killam... This line of siding is special order (the warehouse doesn't stock it yet), so we needed to order in advance. I worked up enough nerve to ask our installer (a relative) if the trim wrap was special order, too. It's not, so I have more time to think over the trim color! It's been rainy today and yesterday, so I'm especially glad to have more time since I'd like to be sure I like the trim color when there is some sun. I really wish we could do it all a step at a time - windows installed first, then siding up, then pick a trim color. Seems like it would be easier than trying to envision it ALL. Your home is just fine. I like the color on it now but I think a different color on the trim and garage doors than bright white would make it work better with the roof. I have a neighbor with a red metal roof which looks great with her stone siding which is shades of golden yellow, amber, tan & cream. It is raining now or I would go grab a picture. I'll try later.

The color consultant didnt take your brick and roof into consideration when she/he looked at your house. I love the color they picked but, not on your house. Take a good hard look at your brick, keeping your roof color in mind and pick out a color from your brick, and try a sample of that on your house. I wouldnt do the corbels, because your house isnt a craftsman, and they just wouldnt look right. However, I do think your choice of new door is much better than what you have now. The door you have, just does not seem to fit the house. You have a very nice house.

So we spent a good amount of time outside over dinner looking at paint swatches and discussing many variables. We think we might have a solution but wanted some opinions. We want our home to "pop" in a good way when we're done. We have decided to not make the shutters and just hang the old plywood when a storm comes through. Tell us what you think and if celerygirl or anyone else can do a mock-up to show us what this would look like, we'd greatly appreciate it! BASE COLOR - SW 6186 Dried Thyme or SW 6187 Rosemary (concerned that Rosemary might be a little too dark. All walls and gutters in this color. TRIM COLOR - SW 7746 Rushing River - columns, garage door, trim ACCENT COLOR 1 - SW 2824 Renwick Golden Oak (or something else that looks like the cedar wood color) - main fence color (which will be sealed). Maybe also paint on the side gables??? We're still unsettled what to do with those side gables. The one on the front of the house (above the garage) is small, but the sides ones are pretty large. ACCENT COLOR 2 - SW 6994 Greenblack - front door and top lattice of the fence to tie it all in. Plus we plan to replace the coach lighting and it will be painted greenblack along with the rod iron wall plant hangers, patio furniture, etc. will all be refreshed with greenblack. Question - should the gutters look best the same as the wall or trim color? We'd like to have it not stand out. Is 4 colors too busy? Funny how we started off saying we would definitely keep the trim white and we decided to not stick with the white and as soon as I logged back on I read the suggestion from raee_gw zone 5b-6a Ohio.
