Viking. Ha Ha Ha. I consider Miele to be quality. Pro style is 90s fakery. Bosch is more reasonably priced good quality.

dishwasher and fridge but are deciding on whether to spend the money on wolf range top, wall oven and microwave drawer.

Anything Wolf has with a blue interior is subject to chipping. The only product that does not have blue is the all gas range. If you are going to get all gas, I would at least want to consider the BlueStar RNB rangetop.

I have the Wolf DF range and an Electrolux wall oven. The Electrolux has a lot more function and is a better oven than the Wolf. It has a much greater temperature range with and without the fan. It heats up so much quicker. Unfortunately both have had the blue liners chip so can’t recommend either.

It is kind of a gamble with ovens because of the convection fans, electronics and the hidden element they have in all of them.

I would disagree that the prostyle ranges are fake. As far as the rangetop, it is deep and gives you more room for wide pans. The grates are more heavy duty on most. The knobs have finer control of the flame. The Bluestar star burner is very unique. It is designed to keep the flame more under the pan. As a gas flame is turned up, the gas flares out. Wolf flares somewhat which is OK for me because I am usually using wide frying pans when I use high heat. Some range burners have a huge flare. Wolf’s is decreased because of the stacked burners.

My burners top out at 15K BTUs but Wolf has increased theirs so not sure how much they flare now. BlueStar has its star which has the burner ports along the rays so that as you turn it up, it stays more under the pan. This is very important with high BTU burners which would flare more as a ring burner.

Another difference is that Thermador and Wolf have burner caps that also make the burner flare more.

BlueStar also has an open burner tray so that it disassembles for cleaning. Some people think that this is much easier to clean. Others do not. This is a video of one being cleaned and most people put foil on the pull out tray.

Cooking for 4 people daily and by no means if a chef but love to cook. I don't do a lot of high heat cooking at the moment but I do plan on it!

Current stove is all in one older Samsung with gas top and gas oven.

My wife and I are looking at Wolf 36" range top and Wolf 30" M series wall oven. The range top is gas and the wall oven is electric, the wall oven does have blue coding, just hard to believe a 5k oven would chip and its not addressed by Wolf.

Any suggestions on brands? I read a ton of forums and looked everyone, not much out there from consumers reviewing these.

It’s very unfortunate that they have had this chipping problem for at least 10 years.

The M was designed to make the ovens more easily repaired as the bottom is removable by the technician.

If I were buying a Wolf wall oven I would not get the M. The E is much better in my opinion. The M to me seems like they tried to fix something that wasn’t broken. They got rid of the “convection bake” which is the most usable mode for me. They also moved the dual fans from the back to the corners. This sets up air flow on the sides that makes things over brown on the sides of the oven. This is from the Wolf website but they took it down.

You can’t turn the fan down because they got rid of the “convection bake“ which is a slower fan. There are some posts here talk about uneven baking

I would look at Gaggenau, Miele or Bosch.

Bosch makes good induction cooktops and ovens. Induction offers advantages over gas. Easier cleanup. Safer for kids. Faster response and heating. Much less waste heat to warm the kitchen. Less exhaust capacity needed. Worth checking out if you've not tried induction.

I've had Wolf, Thermador and Viking range tops, ovens and refrigerators. You will get "discounts" if you buy a package, namely all the same brand. In my opinion, I prefer Thermador's range top to Wolf. I honestly cannot say for sure why, but it seemed to cook more evenly and was easier to clean. Viking sucked! Ovens the Wolf was hands down the best--it cooks perfectly every time. I never had blue enamel chipping. Viking and Thermador were just ho-hum. Whatever you do, DO NOT go with Viking for Refrigeration. We had one at our beach house and the alarm went off all the time, 3 leaks and all in all it was a nightmare. I was just as happy with my Thermador as subzero (aka Wolf) and you can save a few bucks. That being said we had a Kitchen aide built in refrigerator that was great too, so you could maybe save a bit there. Avoid the package deal if you can. I would go Bosch or Miele on dishwasher.

@wekick thanks for the info, the appliance dealer we are working with don't carry Gaggenau or BlueStar and I don't think Miele makes pro range tops. Bosch is coming out with a new pro range top later this year. Seems like you are paying top dollar for bosch and at this point, is bosch worth buying over Wolf?

@ktj1224 No package deal here, Sub-zero fridges sounds amazing but that is far out of our budget! we are not considering Viking either, everything I read said to stay away. Currently, we are thinking of Bosch Counter depth Fridge, Bosch 800 dishwasher, Wolf 36" range top with griddle, M Series wall oven and a microwave drawer. I am very concerned with Wolf ovens and the blue chipping, I make pizza often and that requires high heat. When all said it done a 5k oven should not chip but seems like other manufactures have similar problems.

Just trying to see where our money will be best spent for long-term and trying to get an understanding from current appliance owners prospective.

Bosch 800 is awesome! That's what I wanted to replace my Thermador DW with, but had to fork over more for Miele bc of COVID backlogging appliance manufacturing. Order early, so you can get your appliances in as it's a slow go right now. Good luck!

I think for the rangetop BlueStar or Wolf. If you can try the Wolf, see how broad the flame is with a pan on it. I use wide pans so it works OK for me.

I have all Wolf cooking appliances: a 30" induction cooktop, a 15" gas wok burner module, a combi-steam oven, and a 30" convection oven. I've had them since 2016, so they're pretty new. I'm happy with everything. No issues at all. My only qualm is cleaning the combi-steam. You really have to wipe it after every use if you want it to stay new looking. And the steam water remains in the bottom of the oven, so that has to be wiped out, too. I have become less concerned with keeping the interior shiny clean over time and just wipe out the residual water. But I assume that's true with most steam ovens. The convection oven has the blue interior and I have not had any chipping. I have used the self-clean mode in that oven and it's fine and has not affected the finish. All in all, I'd say it was worth the money.
