Help me with a Paint Color Please!
Comments (7)You'll likely have an area rug that covers a great deal of the new flooring, is wider than your sofa, and has some color in it. Paint is the last item chosen in a decorating project because it has to work with the fabrics/textiles (upholstery, rugs, curtains) and can be custom blended to do so....See MoreHelp me choose a paint color, please!
Comments (4)Sample sample sample! DD painted her entire house Repose Gray. It came out baby blue. In the next house, she wanted baby blue, so she used Repose Gray again. This time it came out true gray. That convinced me of the necessity for having big samples of paint colors and looking at them at different times of the day....See MoreHelp me decide on paint color please.
Comments (13)What is the color palette for your home? I love teal greens and have them throughout my home. I used BM Quiet Moments in my in my bathroom and SW Silver mist in my guest bedroom, but those colors worked with the teal green slate tiles in my foyer and the teal green in my area rug in my living room. Those colors work with the smoky purples and taupes that are in the rest of my home. My sister's color palette is more fall colors, with olive greens and burnt orange and golds. Teal would look out of place in her home. Selecting colors one room at a time can leave us with a home that lacks harmony instead of rooms that speak to one another and feel like one cohesive plan. Here are some sample whole home color palettes. The colors you have chosen work well with most colors. The grays are very cool, clean grays, so you have to watch for some colors looking a bit too muddy or dirty next to them, but most green grays will go fine. Here is a photo from BM showcasing October Mist with cool grays. It wouldn't work in my house, but would work very well in my sister's home....See MorePlease help me pick paint colors
Comments (7)I would paint the walls a nice clear creamy color. The color on the walls now, appears to be a muddy color, and to me, muddy colors are very depressing. I like the arches, and I would work with them, rather than against them. Like the others, that tv, needs to go down on a stand on the wall, and nice art put on the fireplace. Someone will end up with neck problems, with that tv up there, besides the fact, that it doesnt look good there. A couch and a couple of chairs might work better, but, you can work with the sectional. A nice rug, and nice art on the wall, and some pillows on the couch with some color. You also could use a coffee table, and hopefully, you can squeeze in a floor lamp on the far corner of the couch next to the wall. Your light bulbs could possibly be contributing to the muddy look of the paint. Unless paint is really needed, I would change out all those light bulbs to led 3500 daylight type bulbs, to get rid of the yellow lighting you have. You may just find that it is enough, to brighten the room up a lot. Include bulb replacement in the kitchen, and the dining room, and hallway too....See MoreMarylee H
